MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Education: MA/MS degree in School Administration preferred or MA/MS degree in leadership and/or behavioral studies; valid Oklahoma teaching and current elementary administrative certificate.
Experience: Minimum of five years of successful teaching experience with additional leadership experience in either a district or building site role. Prior administrative experience preferred.
Skills: Computer literate; excellent written and oral communication ability; strong knowledge of rules regulations policies and laws applicable to education; expertise in the Oklahoma State Department of Educations policies and procedures.
JOB SUMMARY:
The Jefferson Heights Elementary Principal is responsible for providing instructional leadership and organizational management to ensure high levels of student achievement and school effectiveness. This position leads the implementation of a targeted school improvement process including the development execution and monitoring of data-driven instructional practices and systems of support. The principal works collaboratively with staff students families and the community to create a positive safe and high-performing learning environment focused on continuous improvement and student success.

- Serve as the instructional leader of the school guiding the implementation of a targeted school improvement plan to increase student achievement and growth
- Ensure the effective implementation of the school improvement plan which includes measurable long-term goals and short-term objectives aligned strategies activities milestones professional development plans and budgets. This will be accomplished through scheduled reviews with school leadership teams
- Monitor the implementation of the school improvement plan curriculum and instructional strategies and maintain the plans focus and ongoing modification as new data become available
- Be prepared to report to the district administration and the Board of Education upon request
- Lead the development implementation and evaluation of instructional practices aligned with district state and school improvement goals
- Promote and model the use of data to inform instructional decisions monitor progress and adjust strategies to improve student outcomes
- Observe and evaluate instructional staff using the Teacher and Leader Effectiveness (TLE) system; provide clear actionable feedback and support professional growth
- Provide and facilitate ongoing job-embedded professional development aligned to identified student and staff needs
- Oversee the implementation of curriculum and ensure alignment with state standards and district expectations
- Foster an inclusive safe and positive school climate that supports the academic behavioral and social-emotional development of all students
- Collaborate with counselors teachers and families to support individualized student learning plans and interventions
- Supervise daily school operations including student discipline attendance scheduling testing coordination and facility management
- Ensure compliance with all district state and federal policies including accurate maintenance of student records reports and documentation
- Develop and maintain effective communication with students staff parents and the community; address concerns in a timely and professional manner
- Build and sustain positive relationships with community partners and support family and community engagement efforts
- Lead and support staff collaboration focused on instructional planning data analysis and continuous school improvement
- Maintain high visibility throughout the school to monitor climate support staff and ensure effective implementation of programs and expectations
- Participate in district leadership activities professional development and School Board meetings as required
- Communicate proactively with district administration regarding school progress needs and potential issues
- Support the development and implementation of school policies and procedures that promote effective operations and student success
- Serve as a member of the districts leadership team and attend required meetings when called
- Communicate frequently and directly with the district administrative team about potential problems or issues that require immediate attention proactively
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Superintendent or designee
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: Supervises oversees and manages a district elementary building program and staff associated with it. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the districts policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing hiring and training employees; planning assigning and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; and addressing complaints and resolving problems.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to apply intermediate mathematical concepts.
REASONING ABILITY: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out written and oral instructions. Ability to define problems collect data establish facts and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
OTHER SKILLS/EXPECTATIONS: Develops cooperative and functional relationships with district staff and the public; maintains consistent and punctual attendance; ensures job responsibilities are met competently and within established deadlines.
