Job Summary
About the Position: This position is in the Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS). Employees occupying DCIPS positions are in the Excepted Service and must adhere to U.S. Code Title 10 as well as Department of Defense Instruction 1400.25. This position is located at the U.S. Army Intelligence and Security Command (INSCOM) Assistant Chief of Staff (ACOFS) G-3 Force Readiness Division; Readiness Branch Fort Belvoir Virginia.
- Serves as the Intelligence Planner for the Assistant Chief of Staff G3 Plans U.S. Army Intelligence and Security Command (INSCOM).
- Analyzes organizational intelligence requirements to identify priorities affecting current and future mission objectives.
- Coordinates intelligence strategies and courses of action to address operational requirements and emerging mission needs.
- Integrates intelligence considerations into the Military Decision-Making Process in support of operational forces.
- Assesses intelligence capabilities and functional requirements affecting training deployment employment or sustainment of operational forces.
- Reviews changes to intelligence policy doctrine regulations and directives to determine their impact on organizational intelligence activities.
- Resolves non-routine intelligence issues through application of governing intelligence authorities and established guidance.
- Advises leadership on intelligence issues requiring organizational action or decision.
- Represents organizational intelligence positions during planning teams working groups or other professional forums.
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret (TS) security clearance based on a T5 investigation/Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI) with eligibility for sensitive compartmented information (SCI).
- In accordance with Change 3 to AR 600-85 Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention and Control Program must successfully pass a urinalysis screening for illegal drug use prior to appointment and periodically thereafter.
- Requires Temporary duty (TDY) CONUS and OCONUS travel constitute up to 25% of the time.
- All INSCOM staff may be subject to extended TDY or worldwide deployments during crisis situations to perform mission essential functions as determined by management.
- Two-year trial/probationary period may be required.
NOTE: Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
