THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION.

This National Guard position is for a INTELLIGENCE OPERATIONS SPECIALIST Position Description Number D1647P01 and is part of the 174TH ATKW National Guard.

This vacancy does not meet the criteria for appointment of annuitants.


Duties

As a INTELLIGENCE OPERATIONS SPECIALIST (GS) you will perform specialized intelligence duties as a Intelligence Surveillance Reconnaissance (ISR) unit crew commander and to train assigned military unit members in the duties and functions associated with multi-intelligence (multi-INT) Tasking Processing Exploitation and Dissemination (TPED) activities. Provides real-time TPED support to National Agencies Joint Commands Air Force Major Commands (MAJCOMs) Air Operations Centers (AOCs) and US and coalition airborne assets in exercises and contingency operations. Ensures real-time and near-real-time multi-INT reporting and analysis by all exploitation sections.

  • This is an excepted service position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the employing states National Guard required prior to the effective date of placement.
  • Selectee will be required to wear the military uniform.
  • Acceptance of an excepted service position constitutes concurrence with these requirements as a condition of employment.
  • Males born after 31 December 1959 must be registered for Selective Service.
  • Federal employment suitability as determined by a background investigation.
  • May be required to successfully complete a two year trial period.
  • Participation in direct deposit is mandatory.
  • Must obtain and maintain a Top Secret/Special Compartmented Information (TS/SCI) security clearance within one year of appointment.
  • For positions requiring the operation of motor vehicles candidates must have a valid state drivers license for the state in which they live or are principally employed.
Qualifications

Military Grades: Enlisted and Officer

GENERAL EXPERIENCE:
Experience education or training which demonstrates administrative professional investigative or technical work requiring the ability to deal effectively with others to collect evaluate and organize pertinent facts. Experience preparing clear and concise written reports.

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE:
Must have one year experience education or training at the next lower grade level developing and recommending policy organizing and carrying out specific programs evaluating and recommending changes in methods of intelligence operations. Experience in administrative investigative or technical work which required the applicant to deal effectively with others. Experience collecting evaluating and organizing pertinent facts and to analyze and prepare clear and concise reports.

Superior Qualifications and Special Needs Pay-setting Authority may be considered for this position. TAG is final approval authority for incentive programs (applicable to newly appointed federal employees or those with a 90 day break in service).
