Position Overview

The Lead Warehouseman is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the Technology Services warehouse ensuring efficient workflow accurate inventory management timely deliveries and a safe organized work environment. This position supervises and coordinates daily warehouse activities provides direction to warehouse staff and works closely with Technology Services personnel to ensure materials equipment and deliveries support district operations. The Lead Warehouseman also performs warehouse and delivery duties as needed while serving as the primary resource for warehouse operations.

Responsibilities
  • Oversee the daily operations of the Technology Services warehouse to ensure efficient organized and safe operations.
  • Coordinate and assign daily work to warehouse staff monitor workflow and ensure work is completed accurately and on schedule.
  • Provide guidance training and support to warehouse personnel regarding warehouse procedures inventory practices safety and customer service.
  • Maintain required inventory levels by monitoring stock coordinating replenishment and ensuring inventory accuracy.
  • Receive stock and non-stock items verifying specifications quantities and quality of incoming shipments.
  • Oversee the storage organization and distribution of equipment parts computers Chromebooks Chromebook carts televisions and other technology equipment.
  • Prepare prioritize and coordinate orders by pulling inventory staging materials and ensuring timely deliveries.
  • Coordinate and participate in deliveries and pickups as necessary.
  • Oversee the collection and disposal of obsolete surplus or outdated equipment in accordance with district procedures.
  • Coordinate and participate in physical inventory counts cycle counts and inventory reconciliation.
  • Ensure warehouse inventory records work orders and documentation are accurate and current.
  • Respond to questions from USSPs Lead USSPs and Technology Services Department staff regarding warehouse inventory deliveries equipment availability and order status.
  • Ensure warehouse equipment vehicles and work areas are maintained in a clean organized and safe condition.
  • Monitor compliance with district safety procedures and warehouse best practices.
  • Identify opportunities to improve warehouse processes efficiency organization and customer service.
  • Perform warehouse technician and delivery driver duties as operational needs require.
  • Collaborate with the Director of Technology and other department staff to support departmental goals and priorities.
  • Work under the general direction of the Director of Technology with considerable independence in managing daily warehouse operations.
  • Supervise the daily activities of warehouse staff and coordinate work assignments.
  • Ensure district policies procedures and safety standards are consistently followed.
  • Coordinate resources with other Technology Services teams as needed to accomplish departmental objectives.
  • Maintain accountability for warehouse organization inventory accuracy and operational efficiency.
Work Attendance and Reliability:
  • Regular punctual and reliable attendance is an essential function of this position.
  • Consistent presence is required to meet project deadlines support scheduled installations respond to infrastructure issues and coordinate with technical staff and school-site personnel.

Other Functions:

  • Assist other Technology Services personnel as needed to support department operations.
  • Perform delivery driver duties as necessary.
  • Participate in department meetings training and professional development.
  • Maintain a valid drivers license.
  • Maintain a current forklift certification and operate warehouse equipment in accordance with district safety policies and procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Technology.

Qualifications
  • Experience: Job-related experience in cabling construction or AV installation is preferred.
  • Licensing: Valid drivers license and reliable transportation to travel to various district sites as needed.
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
Working Environment Conditions

The usual and customary methods of performing the jobs functions require the following physical demands:

  • Significant lifting carrying pushing and/or pulling stooping kneeling crouching and crawling.
  • Approximately 20% sitting 40% walking and 40% standing.
  • Regular work in varying temperatures including cold conditions in an unheated warehouse during winter months.
  • Loading and unloading trucks and equipment.
  • Ability to lift up to 80 pounds.
