Instrumentation Technician Ozone

This is an overnight position with hours 6 pm - 6 am from Thursday - Saturday. Rotating schedule of Wednesday - Saturday every other SummaryThe Ozone Instrumentation Technician supervises the maintenance and calibration of all NTMWD flow meters in the Water and Wastewater systems. Additionally the Ozone Instrumentation Technician position performs routine instrumentation troubleshooting preventative maintenance and repair duties requiring an in-depth knowledge of industrial electrical/electronic theory. Must also be knowledgeable of instrumentation equipment related to water and wastewater treatment and production equipment which may include: flow meters analyzers PLCs SCADA systems ozone generators chemical equipment air compressors valve actuators motors variable frequency drives and various other equipment. Individual is expected to identify instrumentation issues troubleshoot and remedy problems using independent judgment. Must have a thorough knowledge of all types of meters used for flow measurement and level recording. Job ResponsibilitiesSupervises the calibration of all flow metering equipment in the water and wastewater systems. There is approximately 500 meters that must be calibrated on a quarterly or annual basis. This information is used to bill our member cities and customer based actual with city staff with assure to verify meter calibration of meters in District Computerized Maintenance Management that new meter installation meet meter manufacturer requirement for accurate flow safe work practices through proper use of safety equipment and procedures including permit required confined space entry and lock out tag for ensuring subordinate employees observe safe work practices at all for ensuring subordinate employees receive required trainings. Assist subordinate employees with troubleshooting and repairing of instrumentation plant inspections with TCEQ to provide required meter calibration records. Call Rotation A. Personnel assigned to a shift work location will be required to participate in a regular twelve-hour shift schedule and must be able to work overtime when needed. B. Personnel NOT assigned to a shift work location will be required to be on a rotational ONCALL status to respond to NTMWD repairs outside of normal business hours must be able to work overtime when train assistants and new hires in safe work methods and troubleshooting of Ozone specific remain current on and attend all required practice safe work practices at all RequirementsEducation & Experience:Minimum three years of experience in process control and/or measurement systems in industrial or utility Electrical Apprentice or Journeyman from State of Texas is a valid Texas Drivers possess a high school diploma or certification(s) from meter manufacturer(s).Knowledge Skills & Abilities:Must a working knowledge of all types of flow meters and level possess knowledge of computers software and be proficient in the use of the District Computerized Maintenance Management SystemMust be able to read and understand technical manuals blue prints schematics one-line diagrams and have the ability to comprehend carry out and administer written and oral and Physical Working ConditionsDriving a District vehicle for business will be required. Employees required to drive as part of their job duties are responsible for maintaining a current valid and vehicle - appropriate driver s license of their resident be working around electricity and liquids above and below ground level. Work conditions vary from indoor to outdoor activities. Outdoor activities may involve exposure to hot cold dusty chemical hazardous dirty and/or noisy conditions. Activities may require sitting standing walking bending crawling climbing kneeling balancing pushing pulling carrying dragging up to 50 pounds of equipment. Tools to be used include hand tools power tools calibration and maintenance equipment measuring devices and field verification units.
