Job Summary

Salary: $40/hr. - $65/hr.

We are seeking an Instrumentation & Controls (I&C) Technician who will be responsible for the installation calibration maintenance troubleshooting and repair of instrumentation and control systems used in nuclear energy applications.

This role supports the safe and efficient operation of equipment by performing routine maintenance preventive maintenance and emergency repairs on electrical instrumentation and control systems within a highly regulated environment.

Key Responsibilities
Electrical & Controls

Install maintain and troubleshoot 120V480V AC electrical systems.
Wire and troubleshoot motor control circuits including VFDs contactors relays and overloads.
Read and interpret electrical schematics wiring diagrams and panel layouts.
Work with PLCs including I/O wiring and diagnostics.
Perform proper Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures during maintenance activities.

Instrumentation

Install calibrate troubleshoot and maintain transmitters for:
- Pressure
- Flow
- Level
- Temperature
Configure and troubleshoot HART and 420mA analog signal loops.
Maintain and troubleshoot:
- Control valves
- I/P converters
- Thermocouples
- RTDs
Perform instrument loop checks and assist with system commissioning.

Maintenance & Technical Support

Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on mechanical electrical instrumentation and control systems.
Support SCADA integration activities.
Document completed work using appropriate maintenance and project documentation systems.
Assist with root cause analysis and continuous improvement initiatives.

Tools & Technology
Experience working with:

Multimeters
Clamp meters
Meggers
Loop calibrators
HART communicators
Hand and power tools
PLC software including Studio 5000 and TIA Portal
SCADA interfaces

Basic Qualifications

Associate degree or technical certification in Electrical Instrumentation Industrial Maintenance or a related technical discipline.
3 years of industrial electrical or instrumentation experience.
Familiarity with NEC ISA standards and NFPA 70.

Skills & Competencies

Strong knowledge of electrical instrumentation and control system theory.
Ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams P&IDs electrical schematics and technical documentation.
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Safety-focused approach to maintenance and field activities.
Ability to work independently and as part of a cross-functional team.
Strong documentation and communication skills.

Preferred Skills & Experience

Prior experience supporting nuclear construction projects NQA-1 environments DOE projects oil and gas ASME-related construction activities or similarly regulated technical programs.
Multidisciplinary construction quality experience spanning civil structural mechanical electrical and instrumentation activities.
Experience coordinating quality execution across multiple subcontractors and construction interfaces within general contractor environments.
Familiarity with nonconformance systems turnover packages traceability systems controlled work execution and field verification methodologies.
Working familiarity with field measurement systems and technical verification workflows.
Strong operational judgment with the ability to make technically defensible decisions under ambiguity and schedule pressure.
Experience performing or supporting subcontractor audits.
