The GISD Instructor for Welding Brazing & Soldering is responsible for leading the instructional program and implementing activities for high school students working toward careers in welding brazing & soldering. The instructor is responsible for meeting the unique needs of the students assigned to the program and prepares students for careers in welding brazing & soldering professions.
- Education: Bachelors degree or higher preferred. Valid Michigan vocational certification in the related pathway or eligibility for an Interim Occupational Certificate with a bachelors degree and at least 4000 recent and relevant work hours in the field within the past six years.
- Experience: Minimum of three years of successful secondary-level teaching experience preferred along with relevant welding brazing and soldering industry knowledge.
- Teaches state-approved Welding Brazing and Soldering (CIP 48.0508) standards maintains and updates curriculum assesses student growth and provides hands-on/work-based learning experiences.
- Supports CTSO activities advisory committees articulation through CATEMA and other Career and Technical Education programs and events.
- Demonstrates effective classroom instruction management and safety practices while maintaining responsibility for classroom equipment materials and facilities.
- Possesses strong communication technology leadership and collaboration skills and maintains required certifications and professional development.
Pay Range:$39139 - $92753 annually commensurate with education and experience
Work Schedule: 186 days per year 7 hours a day
Paid Time Off:
- Sick and Personal Business paid time up to 13 days
