Job Description:

Employment Terms: This job is a full-time benefited FLSA Exempt/Professional position in the Engineering Construction Manufacturing and Design that reports to the Dean.

Minimum Qualifications (Job Code 10065 Category 1):
Masters degree in discipline or Masters degree and 18 graduate hours in discipline.

Preferred Qualifications: Postsecondary teaching experience. Industry or teaching experience in one or both of the areas noted below.

Mechanical Engineering Technology: Modern manufacturing processes statics strength of materials materials science hydraulics and pneumatics mechanical drives and systems mechanical measurements and machine design.

Electrical Engineering Technology DC and AC circuit analysis electronic circuits (e.g. diodes transistors filters amplifiers) digital logic circuits electrical instrumentation and measurements.

Under general supervision prepares lesson plans for classroom instruction for credited Engineering courses at a Gwinnett Technical College. Develops program and syllabi goals and objectives. Teaches face-to-face hybrid and online classes as needed to provide course delivery and scheduling options that promote student retention and program completion. Evaluates students progress in attaining goals and objectives. Requests and maintains supplies and equipment and prepares budget requests. Maintains program certification requirements as appropriate. Prepares and maintains all required documentation and administrative reports. Attends staff development training workshops seminars and conferences. Ensures safety and security requirements are met in the training area. Meets with students staff members and other educators to discuss students instructional programs and other issues. Assists with recruitment retention and job placement efforts.

If offered a position employees in this department must complete the Hazardous Materials training annually.
