Job Summary
Job Description
Yuba College is seeking an equity-minded dynamic collaborative and innovative employee to serve as the Instructional Associate-College Success. BASIC FUNCTION : Under the direction of an appropriate administrator or designee provide instruction and assistance to students in basic skills computer operations instructional software and basic academic skills; develop lesson plans and activities to implement curriculum. Collaborate with faculty coordinators to manage day-to-day operations of the center including supervision of student workers and scheduling of tutors and student appointments. Coordinate with other programs and departments to provide educational support to students across the campus.
Physical Demands
ENVIRONMENT : Tutoring Center lab office and/or classroom environment. PHYSICAL ABILITIES : Communicating in person and electronically to effectively exchange information and make presentations. Reading a variety of materials. Operating a computer keyboard and other modern office equipment. Sitting standing or walking for extended periods of time. Reaching overhead above the shoulders and horizontally. Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard. Bending at the waist kneeling or crouching. Lifting objects up to 25 pounds. HAZARDS : Contact with irate or dissatisfied individuals.
Required Qualifications
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE : Any combination equivalent to: bachelors degree in language arts math or related field and two years full-time experience in adult-level skills development program.
