THE WORK:

Youll perform project cost analysis budgeting forecasting and financial modeling for major Utility New Gas Generation projects throughout development construction commissioning and project closeout.

Youll interface with internal and external project team members including project managers engineering teams construction teams contractors finance accounting procurement and other stakeholders to support effective cost monitoring analysis forecasting and reporting.

Youll build and maintain project cost models budgets and forecasts and perform scenario analyses to evaluate potential project outcomes and support management decision-making.

Youll prepare and maintain project cash flow estimates and monthly cost forecasts including Estimate to Complete (ETC) and Estimate at Completion (EAC) and analyze changes from prior forecasts.

Youll provide day-to-day monitoring and analysis of project commitments expenditures accruals forecasts budgets and variances and identify emerging trends that could affect overall project cost performance.

Youll utilize systems and analytical tools such as Cognos Power BI Maximo PowerPlan Excel and other project and financial systems to perform analyses interpret project data and develop management reports and presentations.

Youll support the development and execution of Cost Quantitative Risk Analyses (QRA) including evaluation of cost uncertainty and contingency requirements.

Youll support the project Change Management process by evaluating the cost implications of proposed and approved changes and ensuring approved changes are appropriately reflected in project budgets and forecasts.

Youll provide Cost Management expertise by identifying process and data gaps recommending corrective actions and supporting continuous improvement of project cost engineering standards tools processes and reporting.

Youll support the development and maintenance of project issue and risk registers and participate in the identification assessment and management of project cost risks.

Youll create project performance metrics dashboards and reports that provide project leadership with clear visibility into budget actual costs commitments forecasts variances contingency risks and emerging cost trends.

Youll demonstrate a commitment to safety through active participation in safety meetings safety inspections and field observations where applicable.

Onsite at client site: The work location for this role is onsite in St. Louis Missouri with our clients and project partners to enable delivery and cultivate strong client relationships.

HERES WHAT YOULL NEED:

Bachelors degree in Project Management Construction Management Engineering Finance Accounting or a related discipline OR equivalent related work experience

Experience developing and maintaining project budgets forecasts cash flows commitments actual costs accruals and cost performance reporting for megaprojects (>$500M) within the process industries (e.g. power refining chemical O&G mining)

Experience developing and maintaining Estimate to Complete (ETC) Estimate at Completion (EAC) project cash flow contingency and multi-year capital forecasts and experience performing project cost variance and trend analysis and developing forecasts based on project performance commitments schedule risk and emerging project conditions

Understanding of the relationship between project schedules and cost forecasts and the ability to incorporate schedule information into project cost analysis and forecasting and understanding of commercial agreements contracting strategies and their implications for project cost management and forecasting

Advanced analytical skills and proficiency with Microsoft Excel Word and PowerPoint

Ability to communicate complex financial and project cost information clearly to project managers project leadership contractors and other stakeholders

BONUS POINTS TO HAVE:

4 years of demonstratable project cost analysis or cost controls experience supporting large Utility New Gas Generation projects including Combined Cycle Gas Turbine (CCGT) and/or Simple Cycle Gas Turbine projects for a utility/owner EPC contractor engineering firm or other major project delivery organization

Experience supporting projects executed under EPC EPCM multi-prime or other major capital project contracting strategies

Experience with Cognos Power BI Maximo and PowerPlan or similar enterprise financial asset management project controls and reporting systems

Experience performing forensic cost analysis and identifying trends anomalies forecast risks and potential budget deviations across complex capital projects and exxperience supporting Cost Quantitative Risk Analysis (QRA) contingency analysis and the integration of cost schedule and risk information

Experience preparing and maintaining project cost documentation to support regulatory proceedings prudency reviews audits Change Orders claims depositions and other contractual or legal requirements

MBA or other relevant advanced degree

AACE International Certified Cost Technician (CCT) Certified Cost Professional (CCP) or other relevant AACE certification



$100000 - $140000 a year
Compensation at Accenture varies depending on a wide array of factors which may include but are not limited to the specific office location role skill set and level of experience.
