The Information Technology Analyst is an advanced professional role that works under general supervision and exercises independent judgment across a broad range of technology assignments. The Analyst evaluates implements maintains and improves information systems while providing responsive technical assistance to City staff.
The role combines analytical work with direct technical support. Assignments range from cloud administration and systems integration to troubleshooting equipment resolving connectivity issues and supporting public meeting technology.
Key responsibilities include:- Administer and support enterprise applications servers networks and cloud platforms including Microsoft 365 Azure and the Citys Tyler enterprise finance system.
- Use scripting programming integrations and automated workflows to improve efficiency reliability and reporting.
- Support cybersecurity identity and access management system monitoring and disaster recovery and business continuity efforts.
- Evaluate AI and other emerging technologies for operational value with attention to accuracy privacy security and responsible use.
- Coordinate technology projects upgrades migrations vendor services documentation and staff training.
- Provide hands-on hardware software telecommunications and audiovisual support including technology for City Council meetings.

- Minimum Qualifications
The classification identifies a typical qualifying background as at least three years of professional experience providing analytical support to IT enterprise systems along with education equivalent to a bachelors degree in computer information systems or a closely related field. Other combinations of experience and training that provide the required knowledge and abilities may qualify. A California drivers license and proof of insurance are required. Current industry certifications in systems networking cybersecurity cloud administration or related technologies are desirable including Microsoft CompTIA Network or Security Cisco Fortinet VMware or equivalent credentials.
