- Be at least 18 years of age
- Have a high school diploma or equivalent
- Have at least 6 months of childcare experience
- 1 year of infant or early childhood experience is preferred
- Previous experience working in an infant classroom is strongly preferred
- Meet all applicable Virginia childcare licensing requirements
- Successfully complete required background checks
- Complete required health safety and professional-development training
- CPR and First Aid certification is preferred or must be obtained as required
- CDA or coursework in Early Childhood Education is preferred
- Provide loving responsive and individualized care to infants
- Maintain active supervision at all times
- Follow each infants feeding sleeping diapering and care schedule
- Properly prepare and handle bottles meals and infant feeding routines
- Complete diaper changes regularly and document all required information
- Follow safe sleep practices and all infant health and safety requirements
- Maintain a clean sanitized organized and safe infant classroom
- Implement The Learning Experiences L.E.A.P. curriculum through age-appropriate activities
- Provide tummy time sensory experiences music movement language development and hands-on learning opportunities
- Support infants physical cognitive social-emotional and communication development
- Observe and document developmental progress
- Communicate professionally and positively with families about feeding diapering sleep activities and developmental progress
- Build trusting relationships with infants and their families
- Work cooperatively with co-teachers and school leadership
- Follow all TLE policies Virginia licensing standards health and safety procedures and confidentiality requirements
- Participate in staff meetings training professional development and school events
- Loving patient gentle and attentive
- Reliable and punctual
- Comfortable caring for multiple infants while maintaining proper ratios
- Knowledgeable about infant development and safe care practices
- Able to communicate clearly with families and coworkers
- Organized and able to complete required daily documentation
- A positive team player who is willing to learn and grow
