JOB OVERVIEW

The Industrial Manufacturing Technology & Tooling Engineer is responsible for identifying developing implementing and continuously improving manufacturing methods. These improvements will be made through the deployment of tooling fixtures automated systems and manufacturing equipment that enhance safety quality productivity and operational performance.

This role serves as a technical leader and internal consultant supporting Manufacturing Engineering and Quality by delivering practical and scalable solutions to manufacturing challenges. The position combines expertise in tooling engineering process improvement automation integration and manufacturing technology to support new product introductions productivity improvements and long-term operational strategy.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES (includes but not limited to)

  • Implement solutions that improve production efficiencies revenue generation team member safety and quality performance throughout manufacturing operations leveraging Lean Principles.
  • Monitor tooling performance and lifecycle data to improve reliability and overall equipment effectiveness.
  • Establish KPI tracking and reporting for: project execution budget performance downtime reduction and manufacturing productivity.
  • Lead the design procurement validation and implementation of fixtures tooling work holding systems error-proofing devices and assembly tooling.
  • Support and execute automation project roadmaps; collaborating with stakeholders to achieve both long- and short-term business objectives.
  • Construct capital budgets and build business cases for individual capital investment projects that utilizes appropriate technology and align with industry best practices.
  • Participate in equipment implementation commissioning and startup activities.
  • Partner with Design Engineering and Manufacturing to improve manufacturability of products and reduce labor needs of current manufacturing processes.
  • Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Education: Bachelors degree in mechanical or manufacturing engineering or related field required.
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years experience designing developing and executing manufacturing or automation projects.
  • Strong manufacturing floor presence and hands-on problem-solving ability.

PREFERRED SKILLS

  • Leadership Experience leading cross-functional teams through influence and achieving goals aligned with company objectives.
  • Communication Experience to express information/ideas in a professional manner to varying levels of the organization.
  • Problem-Solving/Analytics Experience with analysis financial information and metrics that leads to making informed decisions and generating ideas to improve overall business performance.
  • Project Management Experience overseeing the production of product from start to finish managing budgets and managing manufacturing capacity.

LEADERSHIP RESPONSIBILITIES

This position does not have leadership responsibilities.

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS

This position does require travel to all Robinson facilities.
