Job Summary/ Key Responsibilities:

JOB SUMMARY

Playsa crucial role in ensuring smooth cargo operations and exceptional customer include coordinating cargo movements resolving discrepancies andmaintainingeffective communication across various departments government agencies and overseas offices with a focus onaccuratetransportation updates andtimelyresponses to customer inquiries.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

COMMUNICATION ANDOPERATIONS:

  • Reaches outto respective departments outside of Import Customer Service to amend and fix any discrepancies and ensures the cargo is coordinated to the proper POD.
  • Contactsother departments outside of Import Customer Service to correct and resolve any errors and confirm operational feasibility for change of destination requests.
  • Coordinates with GVA for the commercial and operational feasibility of special requests (e.g. change of destination added transshipment re-exports returned cargomis declaredcargo).
  • Communicates with government agencies overseas offices and other departments on the status of the containers.
  • Provideaccuratequotes for charges upon request.

CUSTOMER SERVICE:

  • Respond promptly professionally and effectively to phone calls and emails.
  • Deliver excellent customer service ensuring proper entry filing for customers.
  • Resolvescustomers issues and concerns by taking theappropriate actionsand using all available tools to meet their needs on the first contact whenever possible. Provides extra information to improve the customers experience.
  • Providesaccurateandtimelyanswers to all questions about transportation status and updates following corporate guidelines.

DOCUMENTATION AND REPORTING:

  • Cross-check the manifest against the discharge list toidentifyany discrepancies.
  • Input the manifest data into the relevant system (e.g. OVA).
  • Submits the manifest to Customs for Direct approval and ensures it is accepted handling rejections as needed.
  • Receives packing lists and adjusts manifested piece counts accordingly.
  • Ensure that the updated manifest information issubmittedto both Customs and the Terminal.
  • Manage in-bond permits (IT T&E IE) by canceling renewing or issuing them.
  • Run reportsto apply necessary corrections.

QUALIFICATIONS

REQUIREMENTS

REQUIRED SKILLS/ ABILITIES

  • Bachelors degree preferredor equivalent experience in a similar role(supply chain transportation shippinglogistics freightforwarding customer service etc.)
  • Prior Import Experience is a plus

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Authorization to work in the U.S

This role requires working on-site in the office for five days aweek from Monday to Friday. There is no option for fully remote or hybrid workin this role unless required off-site duties are being performed.
