Job Summary
iMentor Program Fellows are a unique leadership and professional development opportunity. Working an average of 8-10 hours a week from October through June Fellows will support 11th and 12th grade programming at a partner high school and will specifically assist program managers with participant outreach event preparation and support and additional administrative tasks. Fellows will take part in training and professional development in September with ongoing training and support throughout the year.
The ideal candidate will have an interest in education youth development or nonprofit. They will believe deeply in mentoring as a tool for youth success and be confident that with the right support a caring committed adult can build a relationship with a student and support their post-secondary journey. They will demonstrate an enthusiasm for using their experiences with mentorship and/or as a mentee in iMentor programming to support and inspire the next generation of iMentor students. Working as an iMentor Fellow requires flexibility and adaptability as the primary responsibilities of the role will shift throughout the year.
- Support HS Program Managers with class preparation and pair event management
- Assist with prepping for and supporting monthly in-person pair events such as printing and collecting event materials
- Assist with calling/texting HS program participants ahead of and during monthly events
- Supporting in the creation of events pages and confirmation of attendees for various events (mentor huddles workshops orientations)
- Act as a frontline customer support for participants elevating concerns to Program Managers as necessary
- Support the recruitment team and other initiatives as they arise.
- All iMentor alumni are eligible to apply. Non-iMentor alumni are encouraged to apply but should have relevant experience and interests in youth work and education.
- Comfortable working remotely and at the iMentor office
- Availability to work events in evenings
- Employment is contingent upon the completion of a satisfactory fingerprinting and criminal background check
- Prior experience in customer service-oriented roles retail or youth development preferred
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work in teams; must have knowledge of customer service or support.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with demonstrated ability to handle challenging customer service scenarios.
- Must be responsible trustworthy and detail oriented.
- Strong organizational and time management skills and the ability to balance multiple tasks
- Discretion and commitment to maintaining confidential and sensitive information

- Our organization works in partnership with district public schools across the doing so we must meet all compliance requirements of those districts including background checks.
- Mentor is committed to ensuring healthy and safe environments for our staff mentors and the students we order to fully comply with the NYC Vaccine mandate all iMentor employees (regardless of role or region) are required to be fully vaccinated prior to their start date.
- Position Duration: October - June
- Compensation: $17.00/hour.
- Work schedule: Part-time approximately 8-10 hours per week through mid-June of 2026. This position will be a hybrid role with a combination of in-person and remote work. Fellows must be available Tuesday-Thursday from 5:00 PM-8:30 PM and can expect to support evening events throughout the month. Some mid day and weekend availability may be required.
