Our organization is partnering with an Illinois school district to recruit a compassionate and student-focused School Social Worker for the school year. This full-time opportunity is ideal for a professional who is passionate about helping students navigate academic behavioral social and emotional challenges while creating a positive school experience.
As a School Social Worker youll provide direct support to students and help identify barriers that may affect their academic performance behavior attendance or overall well-being. Youll work closely with educators families administrators and related service professionals to develop appropriate interventions and connect students with resources that promote success.
Brief overview:
Provide individual and group social-emotional support based on student needs. Collaborate with teachers families and multidisciplinary teams to develop student-centered interventions and support plans. Participate in IEP meetings and contribute social work expertise to educational planning. Monitor student progress maintain accurate documentation and connect students and families with appropriate school and community resources.
Requirements
- Masters degree in Social Work (MSW) from an accredited program.
- LCSW or LSW may be preferred depending on district requirements.
- Experience working with children or adolescents in a school or educational setting is preferred.
- Knowledge of social-emotional development behavioral interventions and student support services.
- Valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with the appropriate School Social Worker endorsement.
