Roles & Responsibilities
- Own SevOne platform configuration: polling policies threshold groups alert policies device groups discovery profiles reporting
- Configure ICMP polling with confirmation logic (consecutive failures)
- Define and maintain device-class-based threshold profiles
- Implement flap detection and alert consolidation mechanisms
- Tune interface performance thresholds (utilization errors discards packet loss)
- Manage monitoring for WAN campus and data center infrastructure
- Configure BGP adjacency alerting with hold-down timers
- Lead root cause analysis for recurring network and circuit issues
- Design and maintain SevOne operational dashboards
- Define and implement monitoring methods (SNMP traps WMI agent-based)
- Maintain device lifecycle within SevOne (onboarding/offboarding)
- Manage SevOne-PagerDuty integration (webhooks payloads severity mapping)
- Implement alert routing based on device class and criticality
- Implement alert deduplication and consolidation rules
- Strong experience in IBM SevOne administration and configuration
- Strong knowledge of network protocols (BGP SNMP ICMP)
- Experience with enterprise network monitoring (WAN DC campus)
- Experience integrating monitoring tools with PagerDuty/ServiceNow
- Strong troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills
