Responsibilities:
- Organize assigned proposals using client software
- Communicate with homeowners/customers in the AES footprint to schedule on-site meetings and determine the scope of work
- Maintain records of utility infrastructure.
- Identify and mitigate safety risks.
- Design aerial and underground utilities ensuring compliance with AES engineering standards
- Optimize designs for cost-effectiveness and safety.
- Design engineering prints and cost estimates using clientprovided software
- Manage permitting processes.
- Correct database errors.
- Collaborate with project stakeholders for optimal design solutions.
- Maintain vehicle and equipment ensuring operational readiness.
- Manage document systems effectively.
- Respond to emergencies safely and promptly.
- Report to supervisors accurately and promptly.
- Participate in training events at the AES building in Dayton OH.
- Travel occasionally for on-site duties (1-3 days a week depending on workload).
- Perform other assigned duties and adhere to company policies.
Required:
- 2-4 years prior electric utility experience preferably in low voltage distribution.
- High-school diploma with electric utility or telecommunications industry experience OR a Bachelors degree in engineering (or related technical field) with no prior industry experience.
- Obtain and maintain professional certificates and licenses commensurate with project requirements.
- Ability to read understand and apply engineering construction standards to design projects.
- Demonstrate proficiency in CAD/Outside Plant Engineering design software PLA software Microsoft Office applications Google Workspace and data entry.
- Strong communication skills including written and verbal. Read and comprehend instructions correspondence and memos.
- Perform basic arithmetic computations.
- Apply understanding to carry out detailed instructions. Identify address and resolve problems involving multiple variables and varied situations.
- State-issued drivers license and a personal vehicle for on-site travel.
- Residence in Southwest or Central Ohio (Cinncinatti Dayton Columbus). Must live within a 45-minute drive of Dayton OH.
Preferred
- Bachelors degree in engineering or related technical field from an accredited college or university.
- Relevant distribution design experience.
- Electric hazard identification electric equipment identification or communication equipment identification capability.
