Job Title: HVAC/R Install Technician

Position Summary

The HVAC/R Install Technician is responsible for the installation replacement modification and commissioning of commercial HVAC refrigeration and related mechanical systems. This position performs equipment installations piping ductwork controls integration and system start-ups while ensuring all work meets applicable codes manufacturer specifications and company quality standards. The technician works closely with project managers plumbers electricians and other trades to complete projects safely efficiently and on schedule.

Key Responsibilities

• Install commercial HVAC refrigeration and mechanical equipment including rooftop units split systems boilers chillers condensers air handlers and refrigeration systems
• Perform equipment replacements upgrades and new construction installations
• Install refrigerant piping condensate piping ductwork controls wiring and associated system components
• Read and interpret blueprints specifications submittals and mechanical drawings
• Assist with rigging placement and securing of equipment
• Perform brazing soldering pipe fitting and mechanical assembly as required
• Conduct pressure testing evacuation charging and system start-up procedures
• Verify proper system operation and assist with commissioning activities
• Coordinate installation activities with project managers subcontractors and other trades
• Maintain clean safe and organized job sites
• Ensure all work complies with applicable building codes manufacturer requirements and company safety policies
• Complete required installation documentation equipment startup forms and project reports
• Communicate project status material needs and installation challenges to supervisors and project teams

Qualifications

• 3 years of commercial HVAC/R installation experience preferred
• EPA Certification required or ability to obtain within an established timeframe
• Valid drivers license with clean driving record
• Strong understanding of HVAC refrigeration and mechanical systems
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints specifications and technical drawings
• Experience using installation tools testing equipment and fabrication equipment
• Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Ability to lift 50 lbs and work in confined spaces rooftops and elevated work areas

Preferred Skills

• Commercial refrigeration installation experience
• Experience with boilers hydronic heating systems and chilled water systems
• Controls installation and startup experience
• Brazing and soldering certifications
• OSHA safety training
• Equipment rigging and startup experience
• Manufacturer certifications or factory training

Work Environment

• Commercial and industrial job sites
• Indoor and outdoor work in varying weather conditions
• Frequent standing climbing lifting bending kneeling and working from ladders or lifts
• Exposure to construction environments mechanical equipment and active job sites
• Occasional overtime and weekend work based on project schedules
