TITLE: HVAC

JOB DESCRIPTION: To maintain and repair and generally to keep in a condition of good repair and safety the HVAC units ice machines related machinery and equipment of the district.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Formal training in related field
  • Three (3) years experience as a HVAC Technician and or a Electrician (preferred)
  • Must be familiar with Energy Management Systems.
  • Valid State of Arizona drivers license CDL license preferred
  • Ability to work independently and supervise others
  • Excellent communication skills and demonstrated ability to work effectively with students staff and community
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Evidence of ability to effectively use technology to perform duties
  • Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Perform quarterly bi-annual and annual preventative maintenance on all HVAC units ice machines and related equipment.
  • Clean all HVAC units ice machines and related equipment according to equipment recommendations.
  • Assist in keeping the HVAC filters changed out quarterly.
  • Replace belts on HVAC units exhaust fans and related equipment as required.
  • Diagnose issues with all HVAC units ice machines and related equipment.
  • Make proper repairs to all HVAC units ice machines and related equipment according as required by federal state and local regulations and laws.
  • Make all electrical repairs according to federal state and local regulations and laws.
  • Respond to all HVAC ice machine and related equipment repairs in a timely manner.
  • Complete all required paperwork associated with the maintenance and repair of district HVAC units ice machines and related equipment.
  • Maintain in good condition and store for safekeeping all tools parts supplies and other property of the district.
  • Collect store and dispose of all hazardous materials as required by federal state and local regulations and laws.
  • Use materials and operate equipment in a safe and responsible manner using all safety equipment or clothing which might be reasonable to ensure the safety of self fellow employees and students.
  • Assume responsibility for the implementation and observance of all Board policies and regulations.
  • Attend meetings district activities and training as assigned.
  • Maintain open communication with students parents community and staff.
  • Continue personal and professional development through involvement in professional organizations and by attending and presenting at professional conferences conducting colleague visits facilitating school visitation writing for publication and engaging in professional reading.
  • Produce high quality communiqués.
  • Represent the district in a professional manner and in the best interests of the district.
  • Perform additional duties and accept other responsibilities as assigned.
  • Must be EPA certified to add and remove Freon.

While performing the duties of this job the employee is frequently required to sit stand walk speak and hear. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision such as to read handwritten or typed material and the ability to adjust focus. While performing the duties of this job the employee may occasionally push or lift up to fifty (50) pounds such as boxes supplies etc. The position requires the individual to meet multiple demands from several people and to interact with the public and other staff.
