HVAC Mechanic, Commercial

Installs troubleshoots maintains and repairs heating and air conditioning equipment and control systems. Equipment sizes may vary depending on area of responsibility.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Attends meetings briefings and training classes to increase knowledge and job performance.
• Install maintain troubleshoot repair/replace HVAC equipment such as air handlers DX systems split systems package systems RTUs VRF systems condensing boilers standard boilers heat exchangers hot water and/or chill water coils valves actuators pumps and HVAC controls
• Assist contractors as needed with diagnostic and repairs of HVAC equipment.
• Performs preventive maintenance on heating and cooling equipment.
• Service troubleshoot repair/replace centrifugal chill water and hot water pumps. Repairs and/or replaces other cooling or mechanical equipment and shop equipment.
• Responds to cold or hot calls; starts or stops chillers and boilers.
• Perform minor plumbing repairs such as repair/replace flush valves spuds stops faucets clear stopped up drains in toilets urinals and sinks
• Tracks time man-hours refrigerant usage; orders parts; coordinates with outside suppliers.
• Other duties assigned.
  
  

Associates degree in relevant area and four (4) years of appropriate experience. Must have an EPA Universal certification and valid drivers license. Relevant experience may substitute for education. Must be able to work after normal business hours to address emergency situations when necessary.
