Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced HVAC Field Engineer to support the planning coordination and execution of HVAC work across construction project sites in the New York Metro area.
This position will work closely with project management field operations subcontractors engineers and other trades to ensure HVAC systems are properly coordinated installed and completed according to project plans schedules specifications and applicable codes.
Key Responsibilities
Project Coordination & Technical Support
Review HVAC drawings specifications and submittals for accuracy and constructability.
Coordinate with subcontractors architects engineers and other trades to resolve design and field issues.
Assist with mechanical layout installation planning and field verification.
Support BIM coordination and MEP clash detection.
Field Management
Monitor HVAC installation to ensure compliance with plans specifications codes and safety requirements.
Perform quality inspections of ductwork piping insulation and mechanical equipment.
Maintain daily logs field reports punch lists and project documentation.
Verify equipment deliveries storage and handling.
Scheduling & Cost Control
Assist with developing and maintaining MEP project schedules.
Track HVAC progress against project milestones.
Assist with change order documentation and cost tracking.
Support subcontractor billing and progress verification.
Testing Commissioning & Closeout
Coordinate HVAC testing adjusting and balancing activities.
Assist with commissioning and equipment start-up.
Collect and maintain closeout documentation including as-builts O&M manuals and warranties.
Safety & Compliance
Promote a safe working environment and follow project safety requirements.
Ensure HVAC installations comply with applicable mechanical building energy and environmental codes.
Qualifications
2 years of experience in HVAC or MEP construction field engineering or project engineering.
Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering Construction Management or a related field preferred.
Strong understanding of HVAC systems including air distribution hydronics controls and mechanical equipment.
Experience reading and interpreting construction drawings and specifications.
Familiarity with submittals RFIs field coordination and construction documentation.
Experience with AutoCAD Revit Bluebeam and MS Project or Primavera P6 preferred.
Knowledge of ASHRAE SMACNA and IMC standards and mechanical codes.
Strong communication organizational analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work effectively in a field-based construction environment.
Additional Requirements
High School Diploma required.
Must be eligible to work in the United States without current or future visa sponsorship.
