Contract Details
  • Position Type: Contract
  • Contract Duration: 5 months (possible extension; potential to convert to FTE)
  • Pay Rate: $32.00$35.00 / Hour (USD)
  • Shift / Schedule: First 68 weeks will be a training period MondayFriday 8:00 AM 5:00 PM. Thereafter: 2:00 PM 12:00 AM. Candidates will work rotating shifts; every 4 weeks their days off will shift.
  • Overtime: Overtime applicable.
  • Work Authorization: Applicants must be authorized to work for ANY employer in the U.S. We are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment Visa at this time.
Job Summary

As a HVAC Engineer you will be responsible for maintaining mechanical and electrical equipment for complex commercial HVAC systems by conducting proactive performance testing and ongoing scheduled maintenance. This job is part of the Engineering and Technical Services job function responsible for providing support preventive maintenance and repairs on equipment and systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assign tasks to team members. Ensure all duties are done in a timely manner.
  • Install repair adjust service and maintain electric or pneumatic control systems used for building heating ventilation air conditioning and refrigeration systems and equipment including calibration of related instruments gauges and control components.
  • Inspect and conduct ongoing maintenance on building HVAC equipment to ensure proper operation of equipment and compliance with all applicable codes regulations and work safety.
  • Troubleshoot equipment failures and identify the best course of action for equipment modifications.
  • Apply in-depth knowledge of standard principles and procedures to accomplish complex assignments and provide innovative solutions.
  • Coach others and share in-depth knowledge of own job discipline and broad knowledge of several job disciplines within the function.
  • Lead by example and model behaviors that are consistent with CBRE RISE values. Work to build consensus and convince others to reach an agreement.
  • Impact a range of customer operational project or service activities within own team and other related teams.
  • Work within broad guidelines and policies.
  • Explain difficult or sensitive information.
Required Skills
  • Ability to exercise judgment based on the analysis of multiple sources of information.
  • Willingness to take a new perspective on existing solutions.
  • In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office products including Word Excel and Outlook.
  • Organizational skills with an advanced inquisitive mindset.
  • Sophisticated math skills; ability to calculate mildly complex figures such as percentages fractions and other financial-related calculations.

  • Highly professional attitude.
  • Good customer service skills.
  • Work orders will be assigned through a work order management system; ability to work within such a system required.
  • Ability to work both as part of a team and independently.
Preferred Skills
  • Applicable HVAC licensing (preferred; none required).
  • Prior shift manager or supervisory experience preferred.
Education Requirements
  • High School Diploma GED or trade school diploma required.
  • In lieu of a diploma a combination of experience and education will be considered.
Required Experience
  • 57 years of job-related HVAC experience.
Work Environment / Physical Requirements
  • Work site is currently under construction.
  • Meet the physical requirements of this role including stooping standing walking and climbing stairs.
  • Ability to carry heavy loads of 50 lbs. or more.
  • Rotating shift schedule; days off shift every 4 weeks.
  • Overtime applicable.
