The Human Resources Technician position requires an individual to accurately process new hires and maintain proper human resources records. This is done utilizing complex software in accordance with State and Federal Laws and District Policies and Procedures.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Data Integrity & Records Management

Performance Objective and Success Standards: Ensure the absolute accuracy and confidentiality of employee data within district systems and physical files throughout the entire employment lifecycle.

  • 100% accuracy rate in the input of new hire paperwork Personnel Action Requests (PARs) and termination data.
  • Successful completion of the yearly HR information rollover and SDER reporting with zero unresolved data discrepancies.
  • Maintenance of audit-ready personnel files that comply with district and Arizona Department of Education standards.

Talent Acquisition & Onboarding Support

Performance Objective and Success Standards: Facilitate an efficient recruitment and hiring process by managing background clearances vacancy postings and the integration of new staff.

  • Background checks and fingerprinting completed and logged for all new hires prior to their start date.
  • Recruitment materials job postings and interview schedules finalized within agreed-upon departmental timelines.
  • Effective delivery of employee orientations that result in high new-hire readiness scores.

Cross-Functional Coordination & Compliance

Performance Objective and Success Standards: Serve as a technical liaison between HR Payroll MIS and the Governing Board to ensure seamless personnel changes and regulatory adherence.

  • Seamless synchronization of Time America records and personnel changes with the Payroll department to ensure zero payment delays.
  • Timely submission of accurate personnel agenda items for Governing Board approval.
  • Accurate interpretation and application of District policy in 100% of processed employee requests and government verifications.

Employee Relations & Stakeholder Service

Performance Objective and Success Standards: Provide high-quality customer service and clear communication to employees applicants and external agencies regarding HR functions and responsibilities.

  • Resolution of employee inquiries regarding rights responsibilities and benefits within a 24-hour response window.
  • Consistent positive feedback from stakeholders regarding receptionist duties and general HR inquiries.
  • Effective distribution of critical information to HR team members to ensure departmental continuity and continuous improvement.

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 1 year of customer service experience (minimum)

PREFERRED EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

  • One year of experience in human resources or equivalent combination of experience and training that provides the required knowledge and skills.
  • Spanish bilingual

KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

Knowledge of:

  • Department organization methods standards and practices.
  • Standard business practices/methods and procedures.
  • Arizona Department of Education requirements.
  • No Child Left Behind Act.
  • Human resource management practices

Skilled in:

  • Utilizing business English punctuation grammar and spelling.
  • Using complex computer software programs.
  • Prioritizing multiple tasks working under stress meeting deadlines and taking direction.
  • Performing general operations that require the exercise of judgment.

Ability to:

  • Interface effectively with other departments school personnel maintenance staff and outside business contacts.
  • Code classify record retrieve and verify routine human resources information.
  • Maintain accurate records.
  • Apply human resource management practices.
  • Give excellent customer service without injecting personal feelings.
  • Work independently with minimum supervision.
  • Understand and carry out complex oral and written instructions.
  • Communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
  • Write reports business correspondence etc..
  • Effectively present information and respond to questions from administrators staff and the public.
  • Work with frequent interruptions.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with administrators and co-workers.
  • Perform duties with awareness of all district requirements and School Board Policies.
  • Keep all work confidential.
  • Solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables where only limited standardization exists.
  • Interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written oral diagram or schedule form.
