Job Summary

Job Title: Human Resources Officer I - Selections

Retirees of the Texas Teachers Retirement System (TRS) may apply.Consistent with district policy SD-7.17 Employment of Retirees selected applicants are responsible for reimbursing the district through payroll deduction for the current rate of all TRS pension or TRS Care surcharges. As of September 1 2025 the TRS pension surcharge rate is 16.5% and the TRS Care surcharge is $535/month.

Wage/Hour Status: Nonexempt

Pay Group: S35Salary Plan

Primary Purpose:Performs technical and administrative work in support of the recruitment and selections program within Human Resources.

Qualifications

Education

  • High school diploma from an accredited school or a GED.

Required Experience

  • 3 years of full-time wage earning experience performing general clerical/secretarial duties.
  • 2 years of full-time wage earning experience in human resources.

Additional Requirement

  • Must have access to personal technology/equipment that allows completion of job duties while working remotely.

Special Knowledge/Skills:

Knowledge of the principles and practices of recruiting and selection processes.

Skill in oral and written communications.

Skill to handle multiple tasks and prioritize assignments.

Skill in the use of Microsoft Office to include Excel Word Powerpoint and Outlook.

Ability to maintain confidential and sensitive information.

Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.

Major Responsibilities and Duties:

1. Format type and post job vacancies.

2. Evaluate applicant qualifications.

3. Prepare documentation and coordinate interviews.

4. Review interview paperwork for compliance with policies and procedures.

5. Coordinate background and drug screening requirements.

6. Process and maintain database of substitute teachers.

7. Maintain automated systems files and records.

8. Assist in developing job descriptions.

9. Perform other duties as assigned.

Policy reports and Law:

10. Maintain confidentiality in handling sensitive information receivedin the performance of the job duties.

11. Perform duties in a professional manner through daily punctual attendance at location of work assignment..

Follow Windham School District policies and procedures in completing assigned job duties.

12. Execute duties in aprofessional ethical and responsible manner as defined in 19 TAC Chapter 247 Code of Ethics and StandardPractices for Texas Educators.
