Job Summary
The Human Resources Intern provides administrative and project support to the Human Resources Department while gaining hands-on experience in human resources recruiting employee engagement onboarding and organizational operations. This internship offers exposure to a wide variety of HR functions within a healthcare organization and provides practical experience applicable to a career in Human Resources.
The HR Intern will assist with recruiting activities onboarding employee recognition programs HR projects training initiatives and administrative duties while maintaining strict confidentiality and professionalism.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Recruiting
- Assist with posting and maintaining open positions on recruiting platforms.
- Help review applications and organize applicant information.
- Coordinate interview schedules with candidates and hiring managers.
- Prepare interview packets and candidate materials.
- Assist with job fairs career events and recruiting initiatives.
- Create recruiting flyers social media posts and promotional materials.
- Help maintain applicant tracking within Paylocity.
Onboarding
- Prepare new hire onboarding materials.
- Assemble orientation packets.
- Assist with new employee orientation.
- Prepare employee badges and welcome materials.
- Ensure personnel files are organized and complete.
- Help collect required onboarding documents.
Employee Engagement
- Assist in planning employee appreciation events.
- Help organize wellness activities and employee recognition programs.
- Prepare anniversary and birthday acknowledgements.
- Assist with company celebrations holiday events and community outreach activities.
- Create flyers newsletters and employee communications.
Human Resources Administration
- Maintain employee files while ensuring confidentiality.
- Scan upload and organize HR documentation.
- Assist with data entry into HR systems.
- Prepare reports spreadsheets and HR metrics.
- Support HR compliance projects.
- Assist with filing and document retention.
Professional Development
- Attend HR meetings and department training.
- Observe HR processes and best practices.
- Assist with special HR projects.
- Research HR trends and present findings when requested.
- Learn employment laws and HR compliance requirements.
Additional Duties
- Provide administrative support to the HR department.
- Assist other departments on HR-related initiatives as assigned.
- Perform other duties as requested to support efficient department operations.
Education
Current enrollment in or recent graduate of a program in:
- Human Resources
- Business Administration
- Healthcare Administration
- Organizational Leadership
- Communications
- Psychology
- Preferred: Junior Senior or Graduate student.
