Job Summary

As a Human Resources (HR) Talent Development Intern you will support a highly dynamic North American regional corporate HR team in the functional areas of Talent Development Learning and Training.

You will be involved in a variety of strategic projects and have operational responsibilities to support various activities aimed at enhancing associate engagement learning development and organizational growth initiatives.  This role will involve assisting in planning coordinating and executing talent development and training programs while supporting HR-related projects.

This is a hybrid role based in Farmington Hills MI.  Regular onsite participation is expected for team meetings working sessions and relationship building.  During the summer/full-time hours this will include approximately three onsite days per week.  During the academic year onsite expectations may be adjusted based on the interns work and class schedule.

What are a few of the activities I can expect as an HR Talent Development intern 

  • Participate in talent development information events to drive impact
  • Support content updates and marketing platforms used to inform associates about talent development processes tools and resources (Viva Engage SharePoint MailJet (email marketing) Canva and Synthesia design knowledge helpful)
  • Collect organize and publish content to support learning program initiatives (i.e. talent pool rotational development program annual Dialog Days event)
  • Support preparation and follow-up for regional talent review meetings to drive efficiency accountability and execution of agreed development measures and actions
  • Assist in the onboarding of training vendors including updating materials performing quality checks and content creation of marketing materials for new offerings to associates
  • Create update and enhance Power BI dashboards to improve data visibility and inform business decisions (i.e. trackability visual formatting derive key takeaways)
  • Other day-to-day duties and projects as needed

Qualifications :

Required Qualifications: 

  • Must be currently enrolled in an accredited university pursuing a bachelors or masters degree in human resources or other business-related fields such as Industrial Engineering Process/Quality Management Industrial/Organizational Psychology Organizational behavior Project Management Business etc.
  • Minimum Junior level standing 
  • 3.0 GPA minimum
  • Experience participating in at least one project (academic or professional) with documented deliverables and outcomes
  • Be on site in Farmington Hills MI for regular working sessions and meetings
  • Ability to work minimum 20 hours per week up to 40 hours per week.  During the academic year the work schedule will be coordinated around academic commitments and business needs

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • You are well organized and able to prioritize responsibilities
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Word Excel PowerPoint and Outlook) required
  • Previous exposure to Power BI Viva Engage SharePoint MailJet Canva Synthesia or other communications and data-visualization tools is helpful but not required
  • You thrive in a team-oriented environment
  • Must be a self-starter with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
  • Strong commitment to providing excellent customer service
  • Creative mindset; able to bring new ideas and challenge status quo
  • Knowledge in data analytics and trend analysis a plus
