Job Summary
Title: HR Generalist Status: Full-Time / Exempt / Salaried Reports To: Director of Operations
Purpose
The HR Generalist supports the day-to-day people and payroll operations of Christian Life Center (CLC) ensuring staff are well cared for and core HR and payroll programs run smoothly accurately and in compliance. This role carries out recruitment and onboarding payroll processing and benefits administration employee relations support and compliance work under the direction of the Director of Operations. Through this work the HR Generalist helps advance the churchs mission to Know God Be His People Value Others and Change Our World.
Working Relationships
The HR Generalist reports directly to the Director of Operations and works closely with staff ministry leaders and external HR consultants across the organization. This role has regular access to confidential staff information and requires sound judgment discretion and a consistent trustworthy presence. Loyalty to and support of the Lead Pastor church leadership and CLCs culture and vision are essential.

Job Requirements
Spiritual Commitment: Spiritual maturity and a commitment to a Christian lifestyle consistent with CLCs mission and Excellence in Ministry values. Active participation in weekly worship services and ministry engagement/serving opportunities at CLC is expected.
Experience & Education: 35 years of HR generalist and/or payroll administration experience. Experience in a nonprofit or ministry environment is a plus. Bachelors degree or HR certification (e.g. SHRM-CP or working toward) preferred.
Technical & Compliance Knowledge: Working knowledge of core HR compliance employment law fundamentals basic accounting/bookkeeping principles and recordkeeping structure.
Systems Proficiency: Strong computer skills using Microsoft Office Suite HRIS/payroll platforms (e.g. ADP) and project management tools (e.g. Basecamp).
Core Competencies: Detail-oriented highly organized results-oriented and discreet with confidential information. Excellent written verbal and interpersonal communication skills. Ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Job Responsibilities
Payroll & Benefits Administration
Execute bi-weekly payroll processing with accuracy and reliability including general ledger entries and payroll-adjacent HR recordkeeping.
Manage full lifecycle employee benefits enrollment and terminations across health dental vision life long-term disability and voluntary policies.

Serve as primary contact for day-to-day employee benefits questions and assist with open enrollment.
Handle Workers Compensation payroll reconciliations True-Up reports and claims management.
Prepare and support filings for tax documents (e.g. W-2s) Affordable Care Act (ACA) compliance and Section 125 plans.

Recruitment & Onboarding
Coordinate full-cycle recruiting: job postings applicant screening interview scheduling and reference/background checks.
Maintain accurate job descriptions and active job postings in partnership with hiring leaders.
Facilitate new hire onboarding orientation and completion of new-hire paperwork.

Support consistent administration and communication of staff policies and procedures.
Assist with EEO reporting FMLA administration and required staff training/certifications (e.g. child protection/mandatory reporter).
Coordinate third-party vendor relationships including background check providers and contracted external HR consulting partners.

Serve as a first point of contact for staff questions day-to-day concerns and conflict resolution support.
Help coordinate staff engagement recognition and team development activities.
Support a healthy workplace culture by exemplifying church values and promoting team alignment.
