Job Summary

Position Title: Human Resources Director

Reports to: President CEO

Department: Human Resources

Position Category: Exempt Full-time Permanent

Position Summary: The HR Director is responsible for the routine functions of the Human Resources (HR) department including hiring and interviewing staff administering compensation benefits and leaves updating and/or revising company handbooks management of workers compensation claims and unemployment claims HR Compliance Reporting (ie. ACA Reporting New Hire Reporting Terminations etc.) and enforcing company policies and practices. The HR Director will be responsible reliable and willing to regularly contribute to making TCAA a better place to work.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Develop implement support and review HR strategies and initiatives aligned with overall business strategy
  • Provide training and oversight on policies and procedures
  • Management of the overall talent acquisition process which includes generating and/or updating job descriptions posting job advertisements recruiting (open requisitions and ongoing substitutes recruitment) interviewing hiring of qualified applicants and onboarding new hires and substitutes
  • Strategic development skills to develop and evaluate current onboarding plans
  • Reviews tracks and documents compliance with mandatory and non-mandatory training continuing education and work assessments; May include safety training anti-harassment training professional licensure and teaching certifications
  • Participate in the performance evaluation processes
  • Provide support and guidance to management and senior leaders on employee disciplinary actions and/or grievance issues; May also be required to administer and execute routine tasks in delicate circumstances such as providing reasonable accommodations investigating allegations of wrongdoing and terminations
  • Upkeep of employee records organizational charts annual teaching contracts intent to return forms etc.
  • Maintains understanding and compliance with school policies federal state and local employment laws and regulations and recommended best practices
  • Maintains knowledge of trends regulatory changes and new technologies in human resources talent management and employment law
  • Prepare and review compensation and benefits packages
  • Analyze pay scale to ensure compliance with wage and labor laws
  • Process employees queries and respond in a timely manner
  • Work with employees and management to resolve issues identify root cause and recommend and/or implement solutions
  • Mentor and advice manager and other senior leaders on policy procedures attendance dispute resolution work performance and other employment matters
  • Lead investigations and complaint resolutions and ensure investigations are conducted and written findings and recommendations are developed in an objective and thorough manner
  • Manage all aspects of Workers Compensation Insurance (claims audit renewals etc.)
  • Serve as a backup to payroll processing employee benefits and 403(b) administration
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Essential Job Requirements:

  • Education Bachelors degree and 2 years-work experience as an HR Director or HR Generalist preferred; BSc/MSc in Human Resources or relevant field
  • Experience Experience with Title IX compliance preferred
  • Required Skills and Capabilities excellent verbal and written communication skills high level of attention to detail ability to work collaboratively with a diverse team; ability to maintain employee confidentiality able to work under pressure solid understanding of labor legislation; proficient with computers and Microsoft Office Applications
  • Physical Requirements ability to carry 25-50 lbs.; valid driver license
