POSITION SPECIFICS

The Department of Nutritional Sciences in the College of Health and Human Development is seeking a Human Research Technologist. This position will work on a Federally funded longitudinal study on pediatric obesity prevention and will oversee protocol development participant recruitment and day-to-day execution of the study.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

• Develop standard operating procedures for a Federally funded longitudinal study in children
• Establish data collection forms surveys and protocol instructions in Redcap for delivery
• Work as part of an inter-disciplinary team with full-time staff members faculty and graduate students to implement a pipeline for participant recruitment data collection and data processing
• Assign data processing and laboratory testing procedures to undergraduate research assistants
• Assist with ongoing and planned recruitment activities and identify new recruitment opportunities in the community and network with community stakeholders to disseminate information about ongoing studies
• Deliver training to research assistants to ensure successful adherence to study protocol
• Coordinate with other research staff to complete purchases for study materials and foods and rectify expenses in a timely fashion

QUALIFICATIONS

• The successful candidate should have experience with conducting human research studies in the field of nutrition or a related field.
• Experience working with children and families.
• Excellent organizational and time management abilities.

MINIMUM EDUCATION WORK EXPERIENCE & REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS

Associate Degree No prior relevant work experience required; previous relevant work experience accepted in lieu of education. Required Certifications: None

BACKGROUND CHECKS/CLEARANCES

This position requires the following clearances in addition to applicable background checks: PA State Police Criminal Background Check PA Child Abuse History Clearance Form and Federal (FBI) Fingerprint Criminal Background Check.

SALARY & BENEFITS

The salary range for this position including all possible grades is $40608.00 - $58836.00.
