Job Summary
THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION.
This National Guard position is for a HR SPEC (MIL) Position Description Number D1622000 and is part of the 174TH ATKW National Guard.
This vacancy does not meet the criteria for appointment of annuitants.
As a HR SPEC (MIL) GSyou will administer and accomplish functions of one or more of the following human resources programs: Career Enhancements Customer Service Employments Relocations and/or Readiness.
- NATIONAL GUARD MEMBERSHIP IS REQUIRED. If you are not sure you are eligible for military membership please contact a National Guard recruiter prior to applying for this position.
- This is an excepted service position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the employing states National Guard required prior to the effective date of placement.
- Selectee will be required to wear the military uniform.
- Acceptance of an excepted service position constitutes concurrence with these requirements as a condition of employment.
- Males born after 31 December 1959 must be registered for Selective Service.
- Federal employment suitability as determined by a background investigation.
- May be required to successfully complete a two year trial period.
- Participation in direct deposit is mandatory.
- For positions requiring the operation of motor vehicles candidates must have a valid state drivers license for the state in which they live or are principally employed.
- For positions requiring a security clearance (Secret or Top Secret) the applicant must possess or be able to obtain a clearance within one year of appointment.
Military Grades: Enlisted
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE:
Must have one year experience equivalent to at least next lower grade level. Specialized experience factors encompass human resources programs business competencies familiarity with the subject matter or processes used in human resources programs associated with DoD U.S. Army or U.S. Air Force. Must have experience and knowledge serving as advisor to commanders on assigned unit human resources (HR) programs. Interpreting policy and provides procedural guidance to commanders supervisors and staff members. Providing guidance and assistance on unit program(s) for which responsible. Providing training to supervisors on all military human resources issues. Planning directing controlling and providing advisory services on all aspects of the Career Enhancement program for both Active Guard Reserve (AGR) unit drill status guardsmen full time technicians and potential members. Advising supervisors or managers within unit when actions may affect productivity or mission. Being responsible for the development of internal policies and procedures governing administration of Personnel Employment programs to include inbound assignment for officer and airmen personnel; certification of military qualifications and assignment eligibility for AGRs traditional drill status guardsmen applicants; and in-processing of personnel.

2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in related field.

COMBINATION OF EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Applicants may also combine education and experience to qualify at this level. You must have an combination of specialized experience and education beyond a four year degree in a related field.
Graduate Education:Education at the graduate level (above a Bachelors Degree) in an accredited college or university.
You must provide Official Transcripts as documentation to support your educational claims. To receive credit for Education you must provide documentation of proof that you meet the Education requirements for this position.

Relocation costs are authorized subject to provisions of the Joint Travel Regulation and an agency determination that a Permanent Change of Station (PCS) move is in the Governments best interest.
Superior Qualifications and Special Needs Pay-setting Authority may be considered for this position. TAG is the final approval authority for incentive programs (applicable to newly appointed federal employees or those with a 90-day break in service).
