The Role: HR/ People Operations Manager (Contract-to-Hire)
The Company: Early-Stage Technology Startup
Location: San Francisco (onsite 5x a week)
Compensation: $70$90/hour DOE opportunity to convert to full-time

Our client an innovative early-stage technology company is seeking their first dedicated HR/People Operations hire to help build and scale the people function from the ground up. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who thrives in fast-paced startup environments and enjoys creating structure where none yet exists.

This individual will play a pivotal role in establishing the companys people infrastructure during a critical phase of growth. From developing foundational HR processes to supporting a globally distributed workforce this role offers the chance to make a lasting impact on both employee experience and business operations.

What Youll Do:
  • Design and implement scalable HR programs
  • Build and maintain foundational people infrastructure including employee handbooks onboarding frameworks and internal policies.
  • Own and optimize day-to-day HR operations across the employee lifecycle.
  • Evaluate implement and manage HR systems across multiple entities.
  • Partner closely with leadership to provide strategic guidance on people-related initiatives and organizational growth.
  • Collaborate with internal and external partners to ensure compliance with domestic and international employment practices.
  • Drive initiatives that foster employee engagement company culture and an exceptional employee experience.
  • Serve as a trusted thought partner to leadership on organizational and people matters.

Qualifications:
  • 6 years of progressive HR or People Operations experience.
  • Prior experience supporting or scaling early-stage or high-growth startup environments.
  • Strong knowledge of employment law compliance and HR best practices.
  • Hands-on experience with HRIS platforms such as Rippling or similar systems.
