We are seeking an HR Generalist with a strong background in benefits and leave administration. This is a great opportunity to be part of a mission-driven organization where youll play an integral role in creating a supportive employee experience.

WHAT YOULL DO:

Benefits Administration:

  • Manage enrollments terminations and status changes for various benefits like health insurance retirement plans and other employee benefit activities.
  • Coordinate with benefit plan vendors and third-party administrators.
  • Maintain employee benefit files and the group benefits database.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant regulations (e.g. ACA ERISA COBRA).
  • Prepare and submit monthly reconciliation benefit reports related to benefits data.

Leave Administration:

  • Act as point of contact for processing claims for employee accidents through workers compensation.
  • Manage the leave of absence process including FMLA short-term and long-term disability and other types of leave in each respective State.
  • Assist with determining eligibility for various leave types.
  • Coordinate with managers and employees on leave-related matters.
  • Oversee the return-to-work process for employees returning from leave and ensure accurate records and documentation related to employee leaves.

Communication and Support:

  • Provide customer service to employees regarding benefits and leave inquiries.
  • Conduct informational sessions and training on benefits and leave programs.
  • Answer questions and guides employees and managers on leave and benefits options.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable federal state and local regulations is posted on HR Boards.

WHAT YOULL BRING:

  • Bachelors degree in human resources Business Administration or a related field
  • 3 years of Human Resources work experience preferably with a focus on benefits and leave administration
  • Working knowledge of FMLA PFML ADA COBRA HIPPA and applicable employment laws
  • Experience working in a nonprofit administrative setting and coordinating with third party vendors
  • Strong organizational skills attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Ability to handle sensitive employee information with discretion and confidentiality
  • SHRM or PHR certification is a plus!
