Job Type: Contract (estimated 12-week assignment)

Job Salary: $18.82/hour

Job Schedule: M-F 40 hrs/week

Position Summary

We are seeking a compassionate and organized Housing Intake Specialist to support individuals and families experiencing housing instability. The Housing Case Manager will work directly with clients to assess needs determine eligibility for housing assistance programs coordinate services maintain accurate case records and promote long-term housing stability.

This position requires strong case management skills attention to detail and the ability to build positive relationships with clients landlords and community partners.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Case Management & Client Support
  • Conduct client assessments and determine eligibility for housing-related assistance programs.
  • Guide clients through the application and enrollment process.
  • Develop service plans and connect clients with appropriate community resources.
  • Maintain regular communication with clients to monitor progress and address barriers to housing stability.
  • Provide referrals and support services based on client needs.
Program Coordination
  • Work collaboratively with landlords property managers and community partners to support successful client outcomes.
  • Coordinate housing assistance activities and ensure timely processing of required documentation.
  • Assist clients in navigating available housing resources and support services.
  • Conduct follow-up contacts to assess ongoing housing needs and program outcomes.
Documentation & Recordkeeping
  • Maintain accurate and timely case notes client records and supporting documentation.
  • Ensure files are complete organized and compliant with program requirements.
  • Enter and update information in program databases and tracking systems.
  • Support reporting and data collection efforts as needed.
Community Outreach & Engagement
  • Participate in outreach activities to identify and engage households in need of assistance.
  • Represent the organization professionally when interacting with clients landlords and community stakeholders.
  • Attend meetings events or community-based activities as assigned.
Compliance & Quality Assurance
  • Adhere to established policies procedures and program guidelines.
  • Support quality assurance monitoring and file review activities.
  • Maintain confidentiality and safeguard sensitive client information.
  • Assist with continuous improvement initiatives designed to enhance program effectiveness.

Requirements
Qualifications
Required
  • Associates degree or Bachelors degree in Social Work Human Services Public Administration Sociology or a related field; equivalent experience may be considered.
  • Experience in case management housing services social services community outreach or customer support.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Experience maintaining confidential records and documentation.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office including Word Excel Outlook and data entry systems.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple cases and prioritize competing deadlines.
  • Reliable transportation and ability to travel locally for court appearances and field visits.
Preferred
  • Experience with homelessness prevention rental assistance housing stabilization or eviction prevention programs.
  • Knowledge of Housing and Community Development (HCD) guidelines and funding requirements.
  • Experience working with landlords property managers and community agencies.
  • Bilingual skills (English/Spanish) highly preferred.
  • Experience preparing files for audits compliance reviews or grant-funded programs.
