Housing Assistant Specialists

LK Jordan is seeking a detail-oriented Housing Assistant Specialist to support the Housing Choice Voucher (HCV) Program. This position is responsible for processing documentation and contracts related to housing assistance ensuring compliance with HUD regulations and providing exceptional customer service to program participants landlords and partnering agencies. Typical schedule is from Monday- Friday from 8am-5pm. Pay starts at $21.60 hourly.

Knowledge of housing programs/ Housing Choice Voucher Specialist Certification is a plus!

Responsibilities:

• Conduct client interviews to determine eligibility for the Housing Choice Voucher (HCV) Program and accurately process required documentation.

• Process new Housing Assistance Payments (HAP) contracts contract amendments and annual recertifications in compliance with HUD regulations and agency policies.

• Calculate and process housing assistance payments payment adjustments and other related transactions.

• Maintain accurate confidential client records and ensure all files meet program and regulatory requirements.

• Review participant income employment and supporting documentation for completeness and accuracy utilizing the Enterprise Income Verification (EIV) system and other third-party resources.

• Educate participants on program requirements responsibilities and available housing assistance services.

• Respond promptly to inquiries from participants landlords partner agencies and the public providing excellent customer service and resolving concerns.

• Monitor cases for compliance investigate discrepancies or potential program fraud and prepare appropriate documentation when necessary.

• Collaborate with landlords Public Housing Authorities (PHAs) and internal departments to ensure timely and accurate processing of housing assistance.

• Perform other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:

• Must have a High School Diploma or GED and provide proof of education.

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in case management client services social work or a related field.

• Successful completion of a background check MVR check and drug test.

• Bilingual speaker and writer in English and Spanish preferred

• Must have a valid Texas drivers license and reliable transportation.
