Housekeeping Facilities & Project Manager

Job Summary
The Housekeeping Facilities & Projects Manager is responsible for the condition organization functionality and appearance of Housekeeping-controlled areas and departmental assets throughout the hotel. This position oversees public-area and overnight cleaning operations coordinates preventive maintenance and equipment repairs manages special cleaning projects and ensures facility concerns are documented prioritized followed through and verified upon completion.
The manager works closely with Engineering Security Purchasing outside vendors and hotel leadership to minimize equipment downtime address recurring facility concerns and maintain safe and efficient Housekeeping workspaces. The ideal leader is visible in the operation highly organized comfortable holding employees accountable and persistent in following open items through completion.
Facilities Inspection and Follow-Through
- Conduct scheduled inspections of guestrooms public areas Housekeeping back-of-house areas and departmental workspaces.
- Identify maintenance cleanliness organization safety and appearance concerns; submit detailed work orders and maintain a centralized tracking log.
- Prioritize concerns based on guest impact employee safety operational urgency and room availability and maintain clear status updates.
- Follow up with Engineering and other responsible departments until work is completed then physically verify the result.
- Track recurring facility concerns recommend longer-term corrective action and coordinate the timely return of guestrooms or areas that are unavailable.
Housekeeping Equipment and Asset Management
- Maintain an accurate inventory of Housekeeping equipment and operational assets.
- Oversee the condition and availability of vacuums carpet extractors floor machines carts bins radios mobile devices keys rollaway beds and related equipment.
- Establish preventive-maintenance schedules in partnership with Engineering and approved vendors.
- Coordinate equipment repairs document repair history and downtime and ensure unsafe equipment is removed from service until repaired or replaced.
- Evaluate equipment trials and develop replacement recommendations based on safety durability efficiency condition cost and operational practicality.
Public Areas Overnight Operations and Special Projects
- Provide direct supervision and operational direction to assigned Public Area Attendants Overnight Cleaners and Housepersons.
- Maintain clear checklists defining area ownership cleaning frequency quality standards and verification requirements.
- Inspect lobbies restrooms elevators meeting areas spa and locker rooms fitness areas offices loading areas and assigned back-of-house spaces.
- Develop schedules for carpet care floor care upholstery cleaning high dusting elevator detailing grout cleaning wall washing and other periodic projects.
- Coordinate preventive-maintenance cleaning and special projects based on occupancy group activity and hotel priorities and verify completed work through physical inspection.
Vendor and Interdepartmental Coordination
- Coordinate project scope access timing and operational requirements with Engineering Security Purchasing Front Office Food and Beverage Spa and other affected departments.
- Coordinate vendors performing Housekeeping-related repairs installations inspections or specialty cleaning.
- Review the agreed scope inspect completed work and maintain vendor proposals service records warranties invoices and supporting documentation.
- Assist leadership in comparing proposals and making recommendations based on quality cost safety and operational impact.
- Coordinate repair and maintenance activity without performing technical or skilled-trade work assigned to Engineering.
Workplace Organization and Safety
- Maintain clean organized secure and clearly labeled Housekeeping storage and equipment areas.
- Establish appropriate storage and sign-out controls for shared equipment keys devices and operational assets.
- Conduct regular safety inspections; immediately report unsafe conditions or equipment; and follow corrective actions through completion.
- Support compliance with PPE chemical-handling ergonomic and equipment-safety requirements and assist with related incident or near-miss reviews.
Leadership and Employee Development
- Remain visible and engaged in assigned operations including during high-volume periods and overnight project work as needed.
- Prepare schedules and daily assignments for assigned Public Area Overnight and Project employees in accordance with operational needs seniority requirements and the applicable collective bargaining agreement.
- Monitor attendance productivity work quality and completion of assigned responsibilities and provide timely coaching recognition retraining and objective documentation.
- Conduct briefings that communicate priorities safety information project status and equipment concerns.
- Promote respectful communication accountability teamwork and consistent follow-through.
Budget Planning and Reporting
- Assist with annual operating and capital requests related to Housekeeping facilities equipment and project needs.
- Monitor repair costs and recommend repair or replacement based on condition lifecycle and operational impact.
- Maintain estimates photographs proposals and operational justification for proposed projects.
- Provide regular updates regarding outstanding work orders project costs risks equipment downtime and concerns requiring future capital investment.
Performance Focus
Success in this position will be evaluated using measures such as:
- Work-order aging and preventive-maintenance completion
- Equipment availability downtime repair cost and asset-inventory accuracy
- Public-area back-of-house and project-cleaning inspection results
- Timely return of guestrooms or areas affected by facility concerns
- Vendor project quality completion and cost control
- Workplace organization and safety results
- Employee training attendance and checklist compliance within assigned teams
Qualifications :
Qualifications
- Three to five years of leadership experience in hotel Housekeeping public-area operations facilities coordination or a related field.
- Experience supervising public-area overnight project-cleaning or Housekeeping support teams preferred.
- Working knowledge of Housekeeping equipment preventive maintenance project cleaning workplace safety and asset controls.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects follow open items through completion and communicate effectively with Engineering vendors employees and hotel leadership.
- Strong inspection documentation organization communication and problem-solving skills.
- Experience developing operating or capital recommendations preferred.
- Experience working in a union hotel environment preferred.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and hotel work-order purchasing scheduling or inventory systems.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule including mornings evenings weekends overnights and holidays and

Additional Information :
Compensation: Subject to experience and qualifications salary range $65000 - $75000 per year.
Visa Requirements: Successful candidates must be legally eligible to work in the United States.
