The Host/Hostess is responsible for creating a warm and welcoming first impression for guests. This role manages seating waitlists guest flow and communication with servers to ensure an efficient and enjoyable dining experience.

Supervision Received: Restaurant Supervisor / Restaurant Manager / Food & Beverage Manager

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Education

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Experience

  • Previous restaurant or hospitality experience preferred.
  • Customer service experience strongly preferred.

Skills and Knowledge

  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Ability to multitask and remain calm in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong organizational and guest-flow management abilities.
  • Professional appearance and friendly demeanor.
  • Basic knowledge of reservation systems and POS platforms preferred.
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Greet guests warmly and create a positive first impression.
  • Manage reservations waitlists and seating charts to maximize service flow.
  • Escort guests to tables and communicate server sections effectively.
  • Answer phones take messages and provide basic restaurant information.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the host stand and entrance area.
  • Assist with menus to-go orders and guest requests as needed.
  • Monitor dining room activity and communicate with servers and management.
  • Follow company policies safety standards and service procedures.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
