Position Overview:
The Department of Healthcare and Family Services dedicated to improving lives for 3.2 million Illinoisans isseeking to hire a highly motivated qualified individual in the Bureau of Hospital and Provider Services. This position plans develops and implements policies and procedures to ensure compliance with federal and state guidelines develops long range plans for the programs manages medical provider enrollment services including hospital and non-institutional providers develops and presents training and education to healthcare providers confers with legislators supervises a large staff and serves as agency spokesperson.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate their dedication to teamwork the ability to work in a fast-paced ever-changing environment a strong supervisory background including experience managing a large staff managing large scale operations and the desire to promote and provide quality services on behalf of the State of Illinois.

- Serves as Chief of the Hospital & Provider Services Bureau.
- Serves as full-line supervisor.
- Directs the training and education of healthcare providers on Title XIX Policies and billing procedures relating topayment of provider claims.
- Directs the planning analysis review and evaluation of Department policies toward healthcare
providers. - Serves as Agency spokesperson representing the Department with members of the General Assembly theGovernors Office Federal Government Officials other State Agencies provider groups media and the public.
- Serves as a member of the Senior Management Team in the Division of Medical Programs.
- Performs other duties as requires or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumeratedabove.
- Requires knowledge skill and mental development equivalent to completion of four (4) years of college.
- Requires prior experience equivalent to four (4) years of progressively responsible administrative work experience workingin the field of healthcare services.
- Four (4) years of experience developing and implementing policies and procedures.
- Four (4) years of experience in developing and implementing a training program for medical providers concerning state andfederal rules and regulations.
- Four (4) years of professional supervisory experience preferably in healthcare provider enrollment.
- Four (4) years of experience utilizing a medical eligibility enrollment system such as the Medicaid Management InformationSystem.
- Four (4) years of experience in the planning analysis review and evaluation of department policies as it relates tohealthcare providers.
- Four (4) years of experience acting as spokesperson and subject matter expert for hospital and provider servicesaddressing internal and external stakeholders such as Boards of Directors elected officials and General Assembly.
- Four (4) years of experience working with personal computer software programs such as Microsoft Office applications.
- Requires completion of a background check and self-disclosure of criminal history.
- Requires the ability to travel in the performance of duties with overnight stays as appropriate.
- Requires the ability to utilize and maintain state issued equipment such as a laptop.
- Overtime is a condition of employment and you may be requested or required/mandated to work overtime includingscheduled unscheduled or last-minute overtime. This requires the ability to work evenings and weekends.
