The job of a groundskeeper is to maintain the gardens driveways and other landscaping elements of the place. Performs work associated with the upkeep and appearance of outdoor environments including grounds and landscaping.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Typically requires a high school diploma and 0 to 2 years of experience.
• Good knowledge about machinery and equipments used in groundskeeper job
• Ability to spot problems and diseases in plants and take up preventive measures
• Must be strong and healthy since the work is of a physical nature and involves lifting weights and working in sun and cold
• A good knowledge about gardening methods and foliage
• Must be able to spend long hours outdoors
• Performs work under direct supervision.
• Handles basic issues and problems and refers more complex issues to higher-level staff.
• Possesses beginning to working knowledge of subject matter.

• Buen conocimiento de métodos de jardinería y follaje.
• Debe ser capaz de pasar varias horas en exteriores.
• Debe realizar trabajo bajo supervisión directa.
• Debe manejar y atender problemas y fallas básicas además de referir asuntos más complejos al personal de mayor jerarquía.
• Debe contar con conocimientos teóricos y prácticos sobre el tema.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Trimming plants and maintaining high aesthetic appeal of the outdoor space
• With outdoor seating spaces ensure the furniture is kept clean and polished
• Uses various hand tools and gas-powered tools to mow and maintain grass rake leaves trim bushes and trees plant flowers and shrubbery remove dead plants water and fertilize vegetation and get grounds ready for seasonal changes.
• Maintains driveways walkways and parking lots by removing snow and ice.
• Ensures tools are maintained properly.
• Tending to the plants trees shrubs and ensuring their health
• May complete other general landscaping tasks for surrounding grounds such as planting scrubs flowers and laying mulch.
• Keeping the lawns and grass well manicured
• Implements proper care of golf course grounds; fixes divots and ball marks and maintains proper grass height for fairways greens and rough areas. Uses heavy equipment such as mowers compact excavators and fertilizer machines.
• Applies herbicides and sets up irrigation equipment as needed.
• Uses machinery to dig ditches in efforts to control runoff and prevent flooding.
• Marks off areas where golfers should not drive carts or walk through during play. Repairs and maintains grounds equipment.
• Access to back of house areas of the hotel and sensitive information
• Interact and occasionally have unsupervised contact with guests and/or colleagues
• Access and control to sensitive areas in the hotel premises including the Hotel Safe Master Keys and/or guestrooms Storage/Liquor Room and secured file cabinets
• Maintain a high level of trust and responsibility
• Represent the company with certain level of reputation and good character as well as exercise sound judgement

• Usar distintos tipos de herramientas de gas y manuales para podar y cuidar el pasto rastrillar hojas caídas podar arbustos y árboles plantar flores y arbustos retirar plantas muertas regar y fertilizar plantas y alistar las áreas para los cambios de estación.
• Dar mantenimiento a accesos vehiculares accesos peatonales y espacios de estacionamiento al retirar la nieve y el hielo.
• Dar el debido mantenimiento a herramientas.
• Atender plantas árboles y arbustos asegurándose de que estén sanos.
• Podrá realizar otras tareas generales de paisajismo en las áreas circundantes como plantar matorrales flores y colocar acolchados.
• Podar el césped y el pasto.
• Dar el cuidado y el mantenimiento necesarios a los campos de golf arreglar chuletas y marcas de pelotas además de mantener el pasto con la altura correcta en las calles los greens de golf y las áreas ásperas. Usar equipamiento pesado como podadoras excavadoras compactas y fertilizadoras.
• Aplicar herbicidas e instalar y programar el sistema de irrigación según sea necesario.
• Usar maquinaría para excavar zanjas para control de inundaciones y escorrentías.
• Delimitar áreas en las que los golfistas no pueden conducir los carritos o caminar durante los partidos. Reparar y dar mantenimiento al equipamiento de uso en exteriores.

• Acceso a las áreas parte trasera del hotel e información sensible.

• Interactuar y ocasionalmente tener contacto sin supervisión con huéspedes y/o colegas del hotel.

• Acceso y control de zonas sensibles de las instalaciones del hotel incluidas las llaves maestras y/o habitaciones sala de almacenamiento/licores archivadores seguros y/o la caja fuerte del hotel.

• Acceso a habitaciones y llaves maestras durante el cumplimiento de tareas laborales.

• Salvaguardar y administrar adecuadamente la información confidencial incluida la información patentada y los secretos comerciales y cualquier acceso a sistemas tecnológicos.

• Mantenga un alto nivel de confianza y responsabilidad.

• Represente a la empresa con cierto nivel de reputación y buen carácter así como ejercer buen criterio.
