Position Summary: Roy Jorgensen Associates Inc. is currently seeking full-time Highway Maintenance Technicians to perform advanced maintenance operations in the Dallas - Fort Worth TX area during the day shiftmid shift and night shift. This position is based in Joshua TXand requires performing a variety of tasks related to snow and ice guardrail and attenuator repair/replacement signs mowing tree trimming incident response drainage cleaning debris removal and adherence to all applicable federal state and local regulations as well as Jorgensen Company policies and procedures.Schedule flexibility is a must as there may be 10 20% of night work involved
Required Experience:
- Must have a valid Drivers License
Preferred Experience:
- Roadway maintenance experience
- CDL license a plus
- Bilingual: English/Spanish (read/write) preferred but not required
- Work at varied heights
- MOT (Traffic control certifications/courses)
- Guardrail and Sign installation experience
- Exposure to using shovels weed trimming machinery brooms & various small hand tools
Clean driving record is essential
Must pass criminal background check
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma/GED
- Maintain company standards for background checks (i.e. criminal record driving record and controlled substance/drug testing)
- Knowledge of local driving rules and regulations
- Carry out simple arithmetic functions
- Maintain proper safety equipment required for each job
- Knowledge and ability to adapt to the latest technology
- Ability to use smart phone and applications
- Ability to adjust to changing work schedule
- Ability to work safely under ranging environmental and weather conditions
- Capable of lifting up to 50 pounds
- Ability to operate hand/power tools
Job Description:
- Perform routine roadway maintenance and repairs.
- Repair and maintain guardrail fencing signs and roadway appurtenances.
- Remove debris litter and hazards from highways and rights-of-way.
- Operate tractors mowers skid steers loaders dump trucks and other maintenance equipment.
- Perform vegetation management including mowing trimming and weed control.
- Assist with erosion control drainage maintenance and minor concrete and asphalt repairs.
- Install and maintain traffic control devices in accordance with company and DOT standards.
- Respond to emergency incidents weather events and roadway hazards as required.
- Conduct daily vehicle and equipment inspections and report maintenance needs.
- Follow all company safety policies OSHA requirements and traffic control procedures.
- Work effectively as part of a team while maintaining a professional attitude.
Schedule:
Full time; Day & Night shift available. Must be able to work a rotating schedule and weather events such as snowice and floods.
