ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- The associate will have the opportunity to work on a wide variety of intellectual property litigation matters concerning patents trade secrets copyrights and trademarks as well as post-grant proceedings at the United States Patent and Trademark Office opinions counseling and transactions.
- This role is ideal for a candidate seeking to advance their career within an exciting and fast-paced high-tech litigation group.
- The ideal candidate will have two to five years of experience with intellectual property matters including patent and/or copyright litigation.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- An undergraduate or advanced degree or industry experience in Electrical Engineering Computer Engineering Computer Science Information Science Mathematics or Physics is required.
- Outstanding legal research and analytical abilities excellent written and oral communication skills a strong work ethic a team player and an interest in taking ownership of projects and increased levels of responsibilities for client matters are required.
- You must be admitted to the state bar in which you are practicing and will need to be admitted to the D.C. Bar.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Registration to practice before the US Patent and Trademark Office is preferred but not required.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- This position is generally performed in a professional office setting; 70% sitting 20% standing and 10% walking
- This position routinely utilizes standard office equipment such as laptops computers phones photocopiers and filing cabinets in a home office as well as an in-person office environment.
- Ability to lift/move up to 20 pounds.
