We are seeking experienced High Speed Heavy Press Operators to join our manufacturing team supporting the production of precision metal stampings and industrial components. This role is responsible for operating high-speed stamping presses while maintaining strict quality standards maximizing production efficiency and ensuring safe manufacturing practices.
The ideal candidate has experience operating heavy stamping presses in a high-volume manufacturing environment and possesses strong mechanical aptitude attention to detail and a commitment to continuous improvement. This position plays a key role in producing high-quality precision components while minimizing downtime and maximizing equipment performance.
- Set up operate and monitor high-speed heavy stamping presses to produce precision metal components.
- Monitor press performance production output and machine efficiency to achieve daily production goals.
- Inspect parts throughout the production process to ensure compliance with engineering drawings specifications and quality standards.
- Perform first-piece in-process and final inspections using precision measuring instruments.
- Identify process variations tooling issues equipment malfunctions or quality concerns and take appropriate corrective action.
- Perform routine machine adjustments to maintain dimensional accuracy and optimize production performance.
- Load raw materials and monitor material flow throughout the production process.
- Change dies tooling and press components as required to support production schedules.
- Perform minor troubleshooting and preventive maintenance while coordinating with Maintenance for major equipment repairs.
- Record production data scrap rates downtime and quality information accurately.
- Collaborate with Manufacturing Engineering Tool Room Maintenance and Quality teams to improve manufacturing processes and production efficiency.
- Participate in Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives that reduce waste and improve productivity.
- Maintain a clean organized and safe work environment while following OSHA regulations and company safety procedures.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience operating high-speed stamping presses in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience with progressive dies heavy presses and precision metal stamping operations.
- Ability to read blueprints work instructions and manufacturing specifications.
- Experience using precision measuring equipment including calipers micrometers gauges and indicators.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
- Knowledge of metal forming processes tooling and production equipment.
- Ability to recognize quality defects and make machine adjustments to maintain product quality.
- Strong attention to detail safety awareness and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a manufacturing team.
- Experience manufacturing bearings precision components metal stampings or industrial products.
- Experience performing die changes and basic press setup.
- Knowledge of Statistical Process Control (SPC) and quality inspection techniques.
- Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing 5S and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Forklift certification is a plus.
- Experience with ERP or electronic production reporting systems.
- Mechanical or technical training is preferred.
