SUMMARY:
Responsible for overseeing the academic program under the direction of the campusPrincipal. Ensure sound implementation of curriculum and staff development to improve student achievement.

MAJORRESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
InstructionalManagement
- Assist thecampus Principal with the overall administration of the instructional program at the campus level and coordinate assigned student activities and services.
- Provide leadership in the identification evaluation and selection of instructional programs resources and equipment for increased student achievement.
- Facilitate improved student performance through the professional growth of teachers and staff as measured by course work and assessment data.
- Provide quality instructional support and feedback on the instructional effectiveness of the campus.
- Work with thecampus Principal to develop and implement the master schedule.
- Assist in designing and providing professional development based on data analysis and campus needs.
- Meet regularly with academicDepartmentHeads andAssistantPrincipals to ensure vertical and horizontal alignment of curriculum.
- Manage Response to Intervention (RTI) programs including assisting with the identification of at-risk students and coordinating early intervention strategies.
School/Organizational Improvement
- Plan and coordinate tutorials interventions additional support and resources and other instructional programs for students in need of assistance.
- Facilitate and assist with the development of an effective campus improvement plan based on student needs.
- Ensure that student progress is evaluated on a regular systematic basis and that the findings are used to make instructional programs and services more effective.
School and Community Relations
- Conduct conferences with parents students and teachers.
- Increase awareness of the schools guidelines and expectations for student learning and achievement among students staff and parents.
Personnel Management
- Observe employee performance record observations and conduct evaluation conferences. Serve as second appraiser as needed for designated teacher appraisal system.
- Assistcampus Principal in interviewing selecting and orienting new staff.
Policy Reports and Law
- Maintain confidentiality.
- Develop and maintain systems for retrieval of information in support of all programs; compile maintain file and secure all physical and computerized reports records and other required documents.
- Pursue Professional Development activities for self and assigned staff; ensure that Professional Development activities are aligned with District goals and initiatives and current professional research.
- Comply with all policies operating procedures legal requirements and verbal and written directives.
- Comply with the Professional Code of Ethics and Standard Practices forTexasEducators.
- Follow District safety protocols and emergency procedures.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education/Certification:
- Masters degree
- Texas principal orotherappropriate TexasCertificate
- Certified Texas Teacher Support and Evaluation System (T-TESS) appraiser
Experience:
- Three (3) years successfulclassroomteacherexperience
SPECIAL KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:
- Working knowledge of curriculum and instruction
- Ability to evaluate instructional program and teachingeffectiveness
- Ability to manage budget andpersonnel
- Ability to implement policy andprocedures
- Working knowledge in Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS) Resource System
- Ability to interpretdata
- Excellent organizational communication and interpersonal skills
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Supervise and evaluate the work of professionaland paraprofessionalstaff as assigned by thecampus Principal. Direct the work of teachers custodians paraprofessionals clericalpersonneland others as assigned.
