Job Summary
Purpose/Objective of the Role:
The herbarium intern will assist curators in upgrading OWUs research collections mounting and repairing specimens and packing and sending specimens to other museums.
Tasks & Responsibilities:
- Organization
- Care
- Documentation of dried samples of plants
Qualifications:
- Previous experience is not required but the work requires attention to detail and care in handling fragile and sometimes irreplaceable research specimens.
- Useful skills and experience for this position:
- Work with archival materials
- Library experience
- Activities involving careful record-keeping
- Biology course work
- Completion of biology courses helpful but not required.
