**CLOSING DATE: TUESDAY SEPTEMBER 29 2026 @ 5:59 AM**APPLICATIONS WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED AFTER THE CLOSING DATE & TIMEEssential Functions for the Position:Under the direction of the Superintendent of Shops but may receive tasks from the Assistant Superintendent and Lead Mechanic the individual performs diagnostic function tests (dynamometer dyno) failure analysis and specification rebuilding consistent with industry time and quality standards on all transmissions subassemblies axle differentials and other related drive train components associated with all current and future with all phases of troubleshooting using current diagnostic equipment and to troubleshoot and diagnose transmission driveline components electrical and/or electronic systems found on modern transmissions hydraulic systems and their Knowledge & Skills:Familiar with current overhaul procedures and productionefficient methods for heavyduty transmission repair including failure analysis operational troubleshooting and precision measuring with dial indicators micrometers and test be able to read and understand technical publications material safety data publications blueprints and operational schematics related to transit industry transmissions including torque flow hydraulic flow electrical and pneumatic controls and related diagnostic of and familiar with current safety equipment and Training & Experience:High school or trade school graduate. May substitute 2 years practical working experience for trade of six (6) years practical working experience in the heavyduty vehicle field including at least four (4) years experience with power and drive trains medium/heavyduty transmissions to include but are not limited to Allison Voith Ford models 4R100 5R100W and 5R110W Job Requirement & Conditions:Have excellent work performance and attendance Companyadministered written and oral or be able to meet all present and future license and certification requirements as may be required by OTS the City State or Federal to meet standard physical requirements and pass Companysponsored medical examination and drug and able to work various shifts overtime as directed holidayduty as required and assume daysoff as assigned.
