Theodore Robins Ford is seeking a skilled Heavy Line Technician to join our team in Costa Mesa CA. This role involves performing maintenance repair and troubleshooting on Ford vehicles to ensure optimal performance and safety. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with heavy line mechanical systems including replacing and repairing engines exhaust systems turbos and phasers and a commitment to quality workmanship.

Responsibilities
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical issues on Ford vehicles including engines exhaust systems turbos and phasers
  • Use diagnostic tools and equipment to identify mechanical faults
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations
  • Collaborate with team members to complete repairs efficiently
  • Maintain accurate records of all repairs and maintenance performed
Requirements
  • Proven experience as a Heavy Line Technician or similar role
  • Strong knowledge of vehicle mechanical systems including engine and exhaust components
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and wiring diagrams
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Valid drivers license and reliable transportation
  • High school diploma or equivalent; relevant certifications are a plus

Responsibilities

  • Perform work specified on the repair order with efficiency and in accordance with dealership

  • Test-drive vehicles and test components and systems using diagnostic tools and special service equipment

  • Diagnose maintain and repair vehicle automotive systems including engine transmission electrical steering suspension brakes air conditioning etc.

  • Communicate directly with the Service Advisor so that customers are informed if any additional service is needed. Provide an estimate of time needed for additional repairs

  • Execute repairs under warranty to manufacturer specifications

Qualifications

  • 2 years of Service Technician experience preferred

  • High school diploma or equivalent ASE Certification required

  • Ford Certification

  • Previous experience at a Ford dealership is preferred

  • B level qualifications including Diagnostic Electrical and Engine Repair

  • Dexterity requiring a steady hand excellent hand-eye coordination

  • Mechanical and troubleshooting skills and ability to operate electronic diagnostic equipment

  • Excellent customer service skills and basic computer competencies

  • Positive friendly attitude along with an eagerness to improve

  • Enjoy working in a dynamic environment

  • Teammate with ability to collaborate with others effectively

  • Ability to learn new technology repair and service procedures and specifications

  • Valid drivers license and clean driving record
