Under the general direction of the Assistant Director Health Promotion and Administration in the Klotz Student Health Center (SHC) the Health Promotion Assistant provides overall support to the Klotz Health Promotion (HP) unit and the Klotz Matadors4Wellness (M4W) Peer Health Education program. The Health Promotion Assistant will work collaboratively with HP staff and campus partners to support HP programming education and assessment initiatives.

  • Provides support to Matadors 4 Wellness (M4W) Peer Health Education Program.
    • Teaches college health topics (e.g. stress management sleep difficulties alcohol tobacco and other drugs prevention sexual and reproductive health etc.)
    • Teaches public speaking and tabling outreach skills. Accompanies peer educators to presentations and outreaches. .
    • Assists with weekly meetings and trainings.
  • Maintains Excel spreadsheets and files to coordinate HP projects presentations and other outreach events.
  • Provides HP presentations and engages in campus outreach events. .
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

  • Bachelors Degree in Public Health or related field strongly preferred.
  • Experience with college peer education strongly preferred.
