Job Summary
About The Role
The Health Manager coordinates and supports a comprehensive health program at the Peixoto Early Learning Center and plays a key role in developing the Early Learning Health initiative connecting center children and families with health providers and resources. This position will create individualized health plans conduct screenings and train staff on childrens specific medical needs while also supporting the Director of Early Intervention and Inclusion in meeting program requirements by collaborating with families staff and partners while building relationships with community organizations to help scale health services across other Kidango centers.
What Youll Be Doing
- Works with the Director of Early Intervention and Inclusion to ensure grant requirements are met.
- Works with parents and guardians to create individual health plans with families staff and community agencies.
- Assists children and families with addressing challenges that affect their well-being promote resilience and strengthen protective factors.
- Analyzes and tracks childrens growth charts.
- Provides families with health resources and consultation based on appropriate evidence-based or science-informed health information.
- Coordinates and facilitates Parent and Staff Advisory groups for Kidango.
- Understands pediatric periodicity schedules (EPSDT) dental periodicity schedules and immunization recommendations and requirements to increase health literacy among staff and families.
- Stays current with health care delivery systems changes and regulations.
- Serves (e.g. eligibility provider participation covered services).
- Collaborates with Support Services Staff and community agencies to connect and refer families to community resources.
- Prepares reports and verifies backup data for the grant as needed.
- Maintains organized and compliant participant files.
- Works closely with center staff and monitors files to ensure excellent service delivery
- Tracks childrens health progress in Contact logs/Child Plus.
- Conducts Parent Meetings/workshops to educate families about health and the impacts on learning and school readiness.
- Coordinates and conducts health consultations.
- Provides staff training to support medication administration.
- Attends Kidango and partner meetings.
- Develops relationships with community organizations to scale health services across Kidango centers.
- Performs other job duties as assigned.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in nutrition nursing public health or related field; advanced degree in nursing or public health desired.
- Community Health Worker Certification.
- Certification in hearing and vision screenings and other screenings as needed.
- Bilingual Spanish required.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to communicate with the public and represent Kidango in a positive manner.
- Ability to provide leadership take initiative problem solve and work effectively using a positive approach with a diversity of people in a professional manner.
- Proficient in Word Excel PowerPointGoogle Suite and Publisher.
- Able to operate all computers and software used by the agency; proficient with data programs and systems
- Able to be flexible in work schedule including evening meetings at least three times per quarter.
- Health screening and TB and fingerprint clearance.
- Possession of a valid California Drivers License and use of an insured vehicle and able to drive 70% of the time.
