ANNOUNCEMENT OF POSITION VACANCY

INTERNAL & EXTERNAL POSTING

DATE OF POSTING: October 7 2026

TITLE OF POSITION: Head Lifeguard

LOCATION: Otsego Aquatics Center

PAY: $17 per hour

STARTING DATE: Immediately

CLOSING DATE: Until filled

DURATION: Approximately 2 months (8 weeks)

Requirements:

• Lifeguard certification
• Background check/fingerprints upon hire
• Must be at least 18 years of age and have earned a High School Diploma GED or equivalent

Responsibilities:

• Supervise aquatic facility including opening and closing procedures
• Set up and lead instruction for aquatic activities
• Assist with registration for aquatic activities including cash and online payment handling
• Monitor the swimming area.
• Instruct participants in swimming and provide safety precaution information.
• Maintain quality of pool water by testing chemical levels.
• Warn participants of unsafe conduct.
• Limited hours: around 10 hours per week including nights and weekends
