Job Summary

Qualifications:

  • Experience in Accounting or related discipline. Associates Degree in Accounting preferred.
  • Experience in Accounts Payable Receivable Purchasing and Inventory.
  • Knowledge of State and Federal reporting requirements (including W-9 escheats sales tax and 1099 reporting) as well as knowledge of Bulletin 1022 (Michigan School Accounting Manual).
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Proficient in AS400 and Microsoft Office products Excel and Word required.
  • Experience with year-end accounting transactions and preparing for year-end audit.
  • Outstanding organizational and time management skills with the ability to meet deadlines.
  • Excellent oral and written communicationskills along with attention to detail is essential. Pleasant and professional phone manners are essential.
  • Proven work record and desire to work cooperatively and positively with parents district personnel and outside vendors in a high pressure environment with frequent interruptions.
  • Good attendance record required.
  • Additional duties may be assigned by Administrators.
  • Self-motivated strong problem solving abilities.
  • Proficiency testswill be required.

Description:

  • Classification I - 52 weeks -Head Bookkeeper- 8:00 am - 4:30 pm.
  • Provides various clerical services tothe Accounting Dept. and related district goals.
  • The district supports promotion of internal candidates.
